Well deserved. Kind of saw it coming after seeing him in the playoffs last year. Elfrid Payton was another one who I thought would have an MIP leap based off his play at the end of the last year. Didn't happen.

A few voters didn't have CJ in their top 3. Clearly they wanted their man to win and wanted to hurt CJ's chances.

McCollum earned it. No playoffs without him. Stepped up when Lillard was out.

So many 2nd or 3rd year player winning this reward recently:
(3rd year) Z-Bo, Diaw, Aaron Brooks, Kevin Love, Paul George, McCollum
(2nd year) Gilbert Arenas, Monta Ellis
Isn't showing improvement for a new player something expected/supposed to happen? IMO it should be given to veterans with 4+ years.
Curry should have won it.
This.

Most improved is most improved. Shouldn't matter if it is expected or not.

I too think Curry should have won it. He went from being a top-5 player to the undisputed best player in the league and had one of the greatest individual seasons of all-time, and as a result his team had the best record of all-time. That deserves more than just an MVP award.

Curry should have won it, he went from a top 20 player all time at the end of last season to a top 10 player all time this season, bumping out Wilt. Unbelievable. If he adds a ring while playing at a high level this season he's top 5. Case closed.
I have never seen anyone jump up the GOAT list this quickly.
