Kobe is ahead of Duncan all time and that will never change.

Duncan gets the benefit of the doubt far too often and I'm not going to allow it any longer.

Where exactly are people rating him high for what he did this season?

He didn't get a single DPOY vote, he wasn't an All-Star etc. Are you telling me people are calling him a top 10 player still or something like that?

im talking how beore the season he was being ranked top 15 and even now peope refused to call him washed. he was ranked higher than the likes of dame, pg, etc in the preseason. ranked 11 by SI. lmao

Well, that's because those kinds of lists reflect what they did that previous season. And do you know what Duncan did? All-NBA, All-Star, All-Defense, and was by the best player on his team in the Playoffs at 39 years old.

Nobody's talking about him at all this year other than asking if he'll retire. At the end of the day he's still an elite defensive player, one of the best leaders in the game who isn't complaining about touches (just a note, when he was asked to be the focal point on offense against the Nuggets this year he scored 21 pts), and he's only being paid pennies to do it.

You're criticising a guy because media people and fans aren't flocking to call him washed up? That's the deal when you're an all-time great and you're not hurting your team. He's by no means a KG or Hakeem/Ewing at the end of their careers.

What's there to criticize? That people aren't calling one of the most respected players in the game washed up? That's what happens when you're an all-time great and still playing relatively well (he's by no means Garnett or Hakeem/Ewing in their final seasons). :confusedshrug:

To boot, the only reason he isn't getting more touches is the additions of Aldridge, West and the emergence of Marjanovic. Plenty of touches between those 4 guys, and they all convert their shots efficiently.

Duncan is probably the second best defensive big man in the game besides Gobert (yes, ahead of DJ, Whiteside and arguably Bogut). Nothing washed up about that.

those rankings were actually based on projecting on how they would play this season.

All-NBA 3rd team
All-Defensive 2nd team

2015 playoffs

Mostly against DeAndre Jordan and a little vs Griffin - that is what you call washed up?

This year his role is completely different (as it should be with the addition of LMA and the emergence of Leonard). Duncan led the league in Defensive Real Plus Minus - not bad for a player who turns 40 years old day after tomorrow.
