View Full Version : Imagine The Outrage If the Warriors Were Playing All The Grizzlies

all we would be hearing about is how the Warriors are so lucky that the entire Grizzlies team is out and that if they win a title its an asterix. but since its the since spurs nobody says a word. funny too because the spurs possibly more than any other team have benefited from other team's injuries/or susepnsions.

Spurs definitely benefitted from bs in the 2014 playoffs with ibaka being out and lebrin cramping in game 1 of a series that should have veen 2-0 but nowhere close to how much golden state benefitted last year

dirk getting hurt in the conference finals in 2003
kobe torn achilles 2013 and also half the lakers roster being hurt
steph curry getting hurt during their series. curry was extremely limited from game 3
westbrook going down in 2013 eliminating the biggest hurdle to the finals
playing the knicks without ewing in the finals
kobe was playing through a torn labrum in 2003
you also have the ibaka injury in 2014

Was just thinking bout the 2007 series reading posts after mine. Why can't the cavs get lucky and have key members of the opposition injured in the finals

The Spurs and Duncan always get the benefit of the doubt.

Imagine the excuses if the Warriors deal with some injuries themselves and lose

No excuses ******s.

Yeah, we had to deal with it last year when Curry had a concussion and Klay was bleeding from his head, Mo Speights was injured and Bogut has been injured for years

And we still won

This year Spurs fully healthy again and our best player injured again but we'll still win too wow:banana:

Neither klay nor curry missed significant time unlike the players of the other teams listed. Mo speights is a backup that's not a significant piece unlike the players from other teams listed. Curry has missed two games in a first round series against an 8th seed. Cry me a river.:facepalm

No Duncan in 2000
No Derek Anderson in 2001
No Cassell in 04
No T-Mac or Ming in 09 (yet the Lakers still got pushed to 7 games)
No Garnett in 09 either

Literally every title team benefits from injuries. Though I do understand your premise - the Spurs are playing a D-League team right now. But it doesn't matter, because we're not winning the title regardless.

We've had plenty of injuries throughout the years ourselves. Stop crying and accept us winning our 6th.

agreed every year there are significant injuries in the playoffs which alter the scheme of things but the only time I've heard injuries brought up to explain a team winning was last year's Warriors. and it was like that from the very start. people were saying they were lucky about jrue holiday not being 100% or mike conley not being 100%, etc. Its like the fact that the Warriors had won 67 games by a historic point margin and were the best team all year was completely overlooked. with or without injuries the warriors would've likely won the title because they were a dominant team.

They got the #2 seed, they earned the chance to play a sub-par team. What's the problem? They would have beat the Rockets or the Mavs too (probably in 4 or 5).

The real WC playoffs start next round.

if it was the warriors we'd be hearing all about the grizzlies injuries. heck if the warriors had been playing aganist the mavs then we'd be hearing about all of the mavs injuries. but nobody has problem with okc and spurs getting a first round bye playing aganist teams literally missing half their roster.

Possibly the easiest first round matchup in the history of the sport. :applause:
