I think this deserves its own thread

[quote] Many moons ago, David Brock, now the head of a Hillary Clinton Super PAC, used every resource available to ruin the life of Anita Hill and anyone who supported her. He would lie, cheat, and blatantly misrepresent facts if it meant getting Clarence Thomas through the Supreme Court nomination process.

Brock openly admitted it.

Now, it appears Brock, who is no doubt great at what he does, is using his same old tools, but for a new cause in a new technological era.

As head of the Correct The Record Super PAC for Hillary Clinton, David Brock has launched something called Barrier Breakers

A lot of people do that here on this forum...for FREE

Examples: NickYoung, dude77, number7

They of course support trump, but nonetheless, they are trolling for free..which is pathetic. I could at least respect a monetary gain, but they do this for free.

really? doing it for money bothers me a lot more personally.

we are supposed to live in a democracy right? every american is entitled to an opinion, even if that opinion is ****ing stupid. selling your opinion for money, so that a very wealthy person or group has a voice that is much larger than it otherwise would be, kind of undermines the core of democracy imo. why not just let the wealthiest person(s) in the country just set all the laws then?

Aren't the wealthiest people already doing that via lobbying? It's not as direct as that, but money trumps any "voice" or opinion you think you may have. I don't mean to be a pessimist, but you can be very active and politics and vote every election, it won't make a difference.

At the end of the day, you're off better being compensated for that voice via money rather than voting at free will - money vs getting lost in a sea of voices that is artificial and only meant to give an illusion to the masses.

I dont think you are being a pessimist at all, I think you are being a realist and I agree entirely.

Studies show that public opinion has no statistically measurable impact on policymaking, while money is closely correlated (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tu32CCA_Ig)

No doubt the system is ****ed, but I dont think we should give in to it. Maybe there is a way to fix it?

Maybe there isnt a way to fix it. If you look back through the entirety of human history, almost every human society has had the same general structure - a small group of wealthy elites ruling a big group of poor scrubs. Perhaps it is all pointless.

With the amount of Trump c*cksucking you do and still thinking you can call someone else out on their Clinton fanboi-ness, makes this post quite hilarious and shows that you have absolutely no sense of self awareness :oldlol:

If this primary cycle has taught us anything it's that the house of cards the two parties have built for themselves is incredibly weak and prone to having anyone just come in and knock them over. Mostly because the stranglehold they have on tv/print media is becoming more irrelevant and distrusted with every passing day.

And this is still with the VAST majority of people not even bothering to vote or engaging in the process at all.

People on both sides have got to realize that they've been pitted against one another to fight over scraps for DECADES by the parties who own this country.
