ESPN sources say that Golden State's Steve Kerr has won the NBA Coach of the Year award for the 2015-16 season.

He did worse than his assistant and somehow gets an award for it. And if not for Walton, I'd say Stevens got robbed.

Well deserved. Thank you Steve Kerr. And even though Walton coached in his absence, Kerr was there most of the times behind the scenes. He was with Luke everyday on Skype. Luke was the in game coach but Kerr was still calling most of the shots behind the scenes. Congrats.

Eh, to be fair, he did get career years out of Lowry and DeRozan, started Scola for the majority of the year, missed his starting SF for over 50+ games and starting C for 20+ games... yet still got the 4th best record in the league. The team is pretty much lacking of talent outside of 3 players.

Bottom line, they got the Top 3 coaches in the voting right. I would have probably given it Stotts and even Kerr did not coach much of the year he was the official head coach of the team and Walton was just an assistant.
