lol what?

2009

Kobe 30/5/6/2 26.8 PER 32,9%USG
Pau 18/11/3/2 21.9 PER 18,8%USG

2010

Kobe 29/6/6/1/1 24.7 PER 33,2%USG
Pau 20/11/4/2 24.0 PER 21,0%USG

2010 was closer because Kobe had to drain his knee mid-playoffs, so he wasn't able to do as much early on when they played OKC, the only series Pau ever had better overall production than KB.

his averages for the 3 remaining series (he had his knee drained after they beat OKC)

31/7/6 on 47/36/88 shooting

Pau was a solid 20/11 guy but in no way was he close to being the best player on the team nor the player they relied on the most, you can see that from their usage and turnover rates... Kobe had the ball in his hands almost twice as much as Pau and he turned the ball over almost half as much in comparison...not to mention the fact that Kobe was the one running the triangle and a big reason why Pau was able to be so efficient in his role.

Pau was the better player in the OKC series due to the fact that Kobe had his knee issues and needed to have it drained during their Playoff run.

and If Pau wasn't the better player in the OKC series they wouldn't have even made the finals.

and If Pau wasn't the better player in the OKC series they wouldn't have even made the finals.

So that's your argument?

Pau averaged 18/12 on 53% shooting for the series, not like he had career games or anything... I gracefully gave him the series but Lakers potentially lose in the 1st round if Kobe doesn't go off for 32 points in Game 6, Pau had the game-winning put-back but he scored 9 pts on 4/11 shooting...

No one will sit around 50 years from now thinking "Damn Pau Gasol was a better player than Kobe during those runs in the Finals."
