You think he'll retire instead of go after his final pay day? Dude has a lot of child support he needs to pay, needs all the money he can get.

Hopefully no team wants him is what I mean

Probably not but wishful thinking

a dumbass team desperate for "stars" will sign him. Philly for example. Or the Craptors. The perfect place for Dwight to live out his final years.

I dont think 3-13 says anymore than the 21 rebounds(11 offensive). Several teams will go after him. He will get a massive deal. NBA teams dont give a shit what haters on the internet think. These are serious people.

Dwight in a down couple years...has had what would be career years for some guys on near max deals. He put up 14/12 and a couple blocks a night in 32 minutes barely getting the ball. Deandre Jordan makes 20-24 million each of the next 4 years to just be Dwight with even less offense. Guys like Tobias Harris make 17 million next year. Dwights contract is gonna be hefty to say the least.

Dude got a lot of those boards in garbage time when he was playing against the Warriors 2nd and 3rd unit guys.

They were obviously empty boards too, the Rockets got murdered.

He barely gets the ball because statistically he turns the ball over one out of five times he touches it down low. You can't feed a player like that who can't even keep the ball without turning it over.

Bill Simmons said J.B. gave Howard a big FU by keeping him out there almost down by 30 at the very end of the game. Or he just didn't want to sit next to Harden. :oldlol:

The way the game is played today, big men have to either be able to shoot the 3-ball or be agile enough to switch off onto smaller players on Defense.

Howard can't do either.

On top of that, his post game is very one-dimensional.

His value is mostly interior defense and rebounding. He would need to go to a team that plays an older style of ball and the number of teams that do that are shrinking. It just isn't as successful these days.

He's not the Howard of 5 years ago averaging 22ppg, if he can come to grips with that and provide interior defense/rebounding he can still be very valuable. Right now it appears as though he thinks he should be getting the ball more than he is, and maybe on certain nights and matchups he should if he can exploit it. But right now, he's best as a 3rd/4th option on a good team cleaning up the boards and defending the basket.

Reasonable post by reaasonable poster. I don't know what Dwight problem is. Besides he had some health issues (back) and injuries after his trade to Lakers the guy is in steady decline and he is still 30. Probably his game depends a lot on athletism, probably he doesn't train enough, or the injuries robbed him of his prime, probably there is some mentality problem, team issues ?

Five years ago he looks like he would dominate the center position and now he took back seat to guys like Deandre and Drumond. BTW I think that Drumond best years are ahead of him and he could bested his numbers from this season. He is still 22 ...

Dwight is no longer as athletic as he used to be - big reason why he was such a great player in the first place. Never worked on his fundamentals (post game, ft shooting)

Drummond is an athletic freak like Dwight was, only bigger. Seems to have the same flaws to his game, Stan is the perfect coach for him, hopefully he works more on his game than Howard did and he could easily average 25/15 a night.

The Rockets were inquiring for a trade to send Dwight for Valanciunas, apparently straight up or with more assets going the other way for Houston.

Toronto's GM hung up the phone.

Dwight is definitely going to opt out. 23 Million is a lot but I'm sure he'd settle for a 3-4 year 55-60 million dollar contract which is what I think he will get.

name recognition, great stats for career, and starter quality numbers will get him 3-4 year deal 16-18 mill annually. Dallas may offer him 20, but I can't think of anyone else.

If Dwight could play his role with hustle and make the most of offense, it's still big to have a guy that can give you 15 and 12 on high percentages and 2-3 blocks.

Funny how Mavs wanted Deron and Howard years ago and now can have that duo. Except they are both past their prime and no longer the All-Stars they were.

Dirk deserves to not spend his last few years with this cancer.

Dwight would have loved to play with NJ Nets Jkidd. I think dude would be a good fit in the Mavs, maybe a coach like Carlisle could motivate him plus Dirk

Yea he'll def cut bait and run.

Dwight Howard has never met a kitchen that wasn't too hot for him.

He should just become a full time, traveling father at this point and try not to seed up any more child support recipients
