I'll start with the good, they did the absolute right thing by Kobe and looked after him like family to end his career, and they've drafted OK given their draft positions.
But other than that, this front office has done everything in the last 3 years to destroy the Lakers mystique
- Hires D'Antoni instead of the obvious choice in Phil Jackson. This decision ends up costing a franchise legend the rest of his career
- puts up billboard to beg Howard, the guy who just gave up on your team in the playoffs to stay
- Signs/trades for mercenaries to one year deals to try and get the 8 seed. Suddenly decides to-tank half way through the season. Result - too many wins for a high pick, mercenaries pissed off and plays like shit to end the season and lower their value. Decides not to capitalise on this and re-sign the likes of Bazemore, Lin, Ed Davis to cheaper long term deals cus cap room to go after stars.
- Out of everyone they could have kept, signs Swaggy P to multi-year deal
- Strikes out on every star free agent. gets roy hibbert instead
- Treats Pau like a used condom, Pau leaves, uses the money to pay Roy Hibbert instead. All the while Sacre is still on the team.
- Gets lucky in the lottery last season and takes D'snitchalo meaning the Lakers will never get a marquee free agent again.
