What is with these typical 90s purple and teal colors? If you're called the Hornets, why aren't your colors black and yellow?

Hornets look like this:

Grizzlies being blue is more stupid mid 90s coloring. It's like 10 teams at least had these colors in the 90s.

The Bulls are red because red makes bulls angry and badass.
