Lebron has lost all his finals by either losing 3 straight in blowout fashion or getting swept
Never forget game 6 2011 finals when Dirk left the court early to laugh at how easy it was to beat Lebron :lol
If you made your grandkids rewatch the 2011 2007 and 2014 finals and told them that the 3rd greatest basketball player of all time played in that series, Lebron would be the 2nd to 7th guess from them :lol

Playing with Shaq hurting MVP consideration, playing 3 years of his peak on low talent squads, getting screwed in 2006, 2009.

Honestly that MVP belongs to Chris Paul, Kobe should've had 0 MVP.

:lol
I wouldn't even disagree with Kobe getting MVP in '06, but knowing how MVP always goes to a player from a top team, it's not surprising he didn't get it. And he has no argument over LeBron in '09, worse stats & team record

Kobe led his team to 65 wins in a much tougher conference with his starting center missing 30 games.

Easy answer...
Colorado!
He was a media darling before the accusation and suddenly became a villain after this incident. It's a known fact that the media has hated Kobe, and Kobe has hated the media ever since. MVP is a stupid award anyway, just ask my boy Nash.
Now a tougher question would be "How come Shaq only won 1 MVP?" :confusedshrug:

Cause LeBron, and Nash are better than him.

Kobe wins it in 2004 and 2006/07 if there's no rape case
media hated him until he brought the gold back to US and got a team around him
the trial cost him the 2004 season due to not being able to practice as much and he only shot the ball 18 times a game...give us 2003 Kobe he wins the MVP easily that year... Media voted Peja Stojakovic and Jermaine O'Neal over Kobe lol, just let that sink in.

Again, the MVP always goes to a player from a team with a top 3-4 record in the league, Kobe's not getting MVP winning 42-45 games. Not saying that's necessarily fair, but that's the way MVP voting goes. And in '04 he would've had to overcome a phenomenal season from KG

Lol be happy he got it in 2008, even that was a stretch
Kobe was never a dominant enough player to win MVP

kobe saves his efforts for the playoffs .. you know, with the western conference and all, he needs plenty of energy for each round.
everybody saw what wade did last night, dominating the game with mid / long range game, that was Kobe on repeat when it mattered.
he should serve as an inspiration to you all and especially OP for how the game should be played.

"Kobe saves his efforts in the playoffs, that's why he wasn't impressive in the regular season"
" oh... But I meant in the WCF specifically, not the Finals"
You Kobe stans are hilarious
It's not like Kobe is some dominant playoff performer anyways, he doesn't even have one legendary playoff game on his resume ( LeBrons 48 vs Pistons, LeBrons Game 6 vs Boston etc)
Is it too hard to admit Kobe was never a dominant enough player to win MVP?

Malone in 1982 (Moses, not the hebephile Karl) was the last player to win MVP for a team that didn't win 50 games, I believe. It always goes to players on better teams. That hurt Kobe in the voting for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Shaq and Kobe basically cancelled each other out in the votes. Shaq won in 2000, and the next year is when Kobe really established himself as an elite player. His scoring went from the low 20s to about 30 a game.

Whether Kobe only won one MVP, or not, from about 2005 to 2010, he was the best player in the league. Much like Shaq was from '99 to '04.
And while Shaq was the key player in the Finals from '00 to '02, he wouldn't have gotten there in '01 and '02 without Kobe demolishing the Spurs.

I disagree with these assertions, you could make arguments for different players in several of those years you listed
'02: Shaq or Duncan
'03: Duncan
'04: KG
'06: Kobe or Wade
'07: Many players could be argued
'09: Kobe or LeBron
'10: Kobe or LeBron

Of course you could make arguments, but the fact that Kobe and Shaq are involved in all of them is all you need to know.
Without looking it up, I believe the annual GM poll had Shaq at #1 almost every year (if not every year) from '99 thru '04.
And, by the end of the 2010 Finals, I suspect Kobe was considered the best player in the world.

LOL, lets be real
LeBron has been better than Kobe since 2006
2006: 31/7/7 >> Kobe
2007: 27/6/7 + finals apperance >> Kobe
2008: 30/8/7 >> Kobe
2009: 28/8/7 >> Kobe
2010: 30/9/7 >> Kobe
Can anyone make a reasonable argument for Kobe being better than LeBron for any year since 2005?

And I could post more. Granted, those are for the entire decade, but the reality was, Kobe was considered the best player in the world in that time frame.
