View Full Version : Official Reasons Why Warriors are Winning Without Steph Curry Thread

-Rockets are a horrible team and stopped competing in multiple games. Dwight intentionally fouling himself out...Harden sleeping on the bench...

-Blazers are not a strong team and only got here because of a freak accident where Chris Paul and Blake Griffin got injured in the same team

-Blazers have a very small backcourt which is a mismatch against the Warriors' taller guards

-Warriors had 3 games rest before this game. When the Warriors played the Blazers earlier this year they were worn ragged from night after night of tough games...everyone was gunning for the Warriors all season. This is the most fresh the team has been all season minus the Curry knee injury.

THE REAL REASON:

Draymond Green is the MVP of that team. That team's system is built around Green and what he does. Green does EVERYTHING. He can guard the other team's best player, rebound, assist, run the break, shoot, and it's easier for the Warriors to make up for Curry's shooting than Draymond's everything.

Curry is the best player in the league, no doubt. But Draymond Green is their MVP.

They'd beat 27 out of the other 29 teams in the league in a 7-game series if Curry never set foot on an NBA court again. Not a knock on Steph, just some truth about his all-time stacked help and the historic drop-off between the league's 3rd and 4th best teams.

The real question should be why they won't get past S.A.

@warriorsfan: everyone knows that curry has one of the goat seasons (offensively) and is the MVP.....but you seem to be afraid of dray, klay, barnes, livingston etc..... arent you happy that the warriors win? or do you want them to lose, because curry is out? is a good win, just a win when curry dominates?

Warriors are clearly a 60+ win team without Curry. How much talent does this team have? They had a role player coming off the bench, win a FMVP last year.

The only team that can beat them without Curry is the Spurs. And they might beat them with him.

Nah, you're a player-only fan, you f*cking fraud. You don't care about team success, it's only an added bonus for you to validate Curry's success.

You're worse than nathanjizzle.

Kerr runs a brilliant system that I believe he got from Pop.

Constant movement. Great screening. Constant cutting. Unselfish play.

It is interesting that seemingly only Pop disciples implement this (Bud, Kerr), yet it is by far the best format for winning.

Because even without him the Warriors are a damn good team. They have so many players that can step in and contribute on offense and defense.

Think about it, even if you take Curry off this team how many teams in the league would be better for sure? Spurs and Cavs definitely, then...OKC?

LAZERUSS

And they are a much better defensive team when Curry is not on the floor, as well.

They are winning because they have exceptional 2-way talent at practically every position and are terrifically coached on top of it. Their defensive talent is what amazes me more than anything. Size, length and speed at every ****ing position. They rarely ever have to double or help much. You never see them scurrying around or give up an easy shot. It's just so easy for them to get stops and get into their devastating transition game.

Green's ability to competently defend all 5 positions and be a big time rebounder along with being a good shooter on offense and great passer is what allows GS to play small ball. If they had to play a traditional/less skilled PF/C for 35+ minutes per game, their entire offense would suffer, and their defense would likely suffer too as they would lose a lot of their versatility and ability to switch on P&R's. So in a very real sense, Green enables them to be as good as they are as a team. His impact should not be understated.

Beating a .500 team in the Rockets and winning game 1 on your home floor against a 44 win team while your a 73-9 team with Curry is not an indication of anything against Curry.

Do people really expect a 73 win team to become the equaliviant of a 30 win team without one player? That is stupid.

They're a 50 win team minimum without Curry.

So them beating a .500 team and a 44 win team is not surprising at all. It's expected, actually.

Because they are quite possibly the greatest team that ever played in the nba. They own the season record.

With curry this team is the best in the nba. Lets say number one or a ten out of ten.

Without him they are probably 3rd or maybe 4th behind spurs cavs okc maybe even a full powered clippers.

At the moment theyve faced rockets and trail blazers. Not top 5 level teams in the nba.

If they get past spurs without curry which i highly doubt because the spurs are the team they cant out coach. Then u can discredit curry.

Curry isn't the point guard that will get you the most assists, so you're not really losing assisted baskets when he's injured. He's not like a Chris Paul in that sense whose loss disrupts the ball movement and scoring opportunities for the whole team.

Also, while Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, Klay is up there with him. So if you lose one of the Splash Brothers, the other can step up and fill in the void. If both of them are on the court together, they will eat into each other's production so when you lose one of them, you're not losing half the combined production only maybe a third.

2 reasons:

1) Warriors are a well oiled machine.

2) Klay has a deep desire to prove himself better than Curry so he makes sure to play his ass off every chance he gets to be 1st option.

They haven't gone through nothing the past two years. :oldlol: Put your helmet back on.

They haven't faced a legitimate playoff team ONCE in their two year playoff run thus far.
