You think Europe has a migration problem right now? Just wait another 30 years.

"By 2050, summer temperatures in parts of the Middle East and North Africa would stay above 86

By 2050, if day tempatures rise to 114 F, why in particular will this make certain places uninhabitable? Just asking because I live in Phoenix where day tempatures in July can reach or exceed those temps. Is it because a lack of of commodities - electricity?

They don't have much air-con there either, except in the tourist hotels :lol

I don't know if they'd be uninhabitable though--that may be an exaggeration. Last time I went to Tunis it was 45 degrees centigrade and it felt like being in an oven, but they mostly just sleep during the day over there in the Summer, and stay up most of the night having wedding parties.

parts of the Middle East and Africa are already basically uninhabitable.

3 degrees warmer is going to make it not safe to live?

Global warming is going to be awesome for people living in Russia I bet

I'm not a climate denier but these findings seem a little extreme to me.
I doubt temps will rise that far that fast, and even if they do, it's not Mars.
It's definitely habitable.

Al Gore said Miami was going to be completely under water by like 2010.

I don't think it's just the temperature, but everything that comes along with it; longer droughts (years), more dust storms (daily), longer heat waves (years), etc.

I think the sustained heat is more of an issue than the peak heat. Imagine if those peak Phoenix temperatures weren't just in July, but lasted for years, with the low temperature never dropping below 85 F... and you had little/no water.

Like someone said earlier in the thread, some of these places that people live already seem uninhabitable to me. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the water runs out on a large scale.

Our bodies will adapt and evolve by then.

I predict that by the year 2100, our skin will be so adaptable to the climate that fire will no longer burn us.

My brother lived in Dubai for a while and he tried to convince me to move out there. I didn't want any part of it, winters are nice I believe it's around 60-70 degrees there but the summers? No thanks. Even if the AC is on everywhere, how could anyone wanna be outside in 110+? I love going outside, it's a healthy lifestyle. You can't take that away from me.

It's uninhabitable now.

I also heard in 2008 thay by 201? NYC would be under water. Science said that.

Uninhabitable....nah. Just annoying.

Humans can take a lot more than alarmists like to suggest just off being able to modify our surroundings. They arent gonna just go lay in the sun at 2pm and chill....

They will stay in and be miserable but alive all day and go outside at night.

Human beings will adapt. We've adapted to our surroundings since we've roamed the earth. As do animals.

Takes less than 10 minutes to get comfy in a sauna set at highest setting

Likewise with below zero temperature with proper attire.

Humans may be fragile but at least they have incredible bodies built for homeostasis Alhamdullilah

Aren't large parts of the middle east and africa already uninhabitable(Deserts)?
