Paul has a tough match up. He gets Tristan and then lebron.

Kev8n love is a better offensive player but Millsap is a better 2 way player.

Millsap is a top 5 PF.

Love is barely a top 10 PF.

Love is pretty much a poor mans Millsap at this point.

How stupid are you?
Millsap was a top 5 defensive player last year. Love might be a top 5 worst.
And his 3 ball isn't that bad, it's an off season for him.

I'd rather have Love as my Batman, and Millsap as my Robin.

Love is a proven 25+ppg scorer.

Millsap is the answer to both questions

You'd rather have a Kevin Love type player on the Cavs because he can consistently take and make 3's on kickouts from Lebron. In fact, the only thing Millsap really offers over Love is defense

2016 Playoffs - Round 2 Hawks vs. Cavs

Kevin Love
19.0 points on 46% eFG
13.0 rebounds
2.5 assists
113 Offensive Rating
108 Defensive Rating
in 32 minutes a game

Paul Millsap
17.3 points on 42% eFG
10.3 rebounds
2.8 assists
103 Offensive Rating
117 Defensive Rating
in 36+ minutes a game

Love totally outplayed Millsap in the 4-0 sweep. I think that should count for something. :confusedshrug:

Easily K Love! If a player HAS PROVED he get 25 points and 12-13 boards in a multiple seasons, he's on a level of HOF production numbers wise. And he can do it in a stretch 4 capacity.

These types of bigs are VERY RARE in NBA annals. Jerry Lucas is really the only other kind of guy like that among bigs. I'm talking guys who can be great three point shooters AND great rebounders in one. In Jerry's day, they didn't have a 3ball, but he was hitting from 3ball range consistently.

Millsap has come a long way, but he'll NEVER be a superstar. Love at one point was arguably the best PF in the world. And Love hasn't slipped from that level, his situation just changed.

rba, look at what tristan thompson did to him in 2015 ...

13.8/7.8/2.5, on 34.9% FG

While getting pummeled on the other end.. Millsap is a stump, and always suffers most in playoffs. Luckily he has Dwight now to compliment his game quite nicely.

Paul's gotten absolutely wrecked defensively the last two years in the playoffs.

Millsap. Cavs would be elite defensively with him, and he would get much better 3 point shots. He's also a better finisher around the rim.

I think Love is clearly the better player. But financially and defense wise, Millsap could be the better fit. And in terms of numbers, Millsap could get the same numbers that K Love could as the third option. But the Cavs DID win a ring with Love. And let's face it the Bron-Kyrie-Love trio with Lue coaching hasn't been together long at all. So for them to win a ring already with that newness is very impressive!

Let me know when Milsap puts up 26/13/4 for an entire season.

I agree! At one point, K Love was arguably the best PF in the world. But on Cleveland, he's asked to be a third option. But Love is still one of the top five PF's in the world. In his Minny days, no other PF combined scoring, rebounding, and passing like him. He's still capable of those same numbers, but as the third option his numbers will naturally take a hit.

When Ray and Bosh joined their respective Big 3's, their scoring numbers went down 6-8 points. BECAUSE they came in as the third option. In Durant's case, he will likely be the #1 scoring option for the Warriors. So while his scoring could take a hit, he's still coming in as the #1 option. That's MUCH DIFFERENT than going from#1 to #3!

Millsap may be a better 2-way player than Love, but him and Horford got owned by the Cavs frontcourt for 2 straight playoffs!!
He might be a better fit on the Cavs in terms of defense, but his outside shot is worse than Love's...
At this point, I'm not exactly sure about a potential swap between the two...

If you put Millsap in Kevin Loves place in MIN I dony think he makes them any better.
But if you put Millsap in Kevin Loves place in Cleveland I think he makes them better.

Id take Millsap though.

Love as a 1st or 2nd option. Millsap as a 3rd or 4th option.

atlanta got crushed on defense but that was due to a combination of cavs getting hot from 3 and that being the hawks main flaw on defense. It's hard to give Millsap all the blame for that and there's so much switching now few guys guard their man on over 50% of their shot attempts. Millsap's playstyle might have problems in the playoffs but he's better than Love and I would argue even Aldridge(who no one would put under Love).

there's no world where Paul Millsap is considered better than Lamarcus Aldridge.. a guy with 4 all nba teams and multiple top 10 MVP finishes to Millsap's 0. Kevin Love pre-Cavs was also on a different level by nearly every measure as well.

smoke, if you get roasted when it matters in the playoffs, it means jack sh!t that your team could feast on scrub teams during the regular season... it's not suprising coming from you though given your man crush on david robinson. millsap has serious limitations when it comes to playoff basketball. He cant defend the rim, and is pushed around by bigger players.. a 16/9 iverson esque 51 TS player through multiple whole playoff runs, not one series ... wisen up.

First you compare Hedo Turkoglu to Eddie Jones, now this comment? Maybe you should call it a night.

All I know is replace Love with Milsap and the Cavs win the championship decisively

For those that would take Millsap overall, when has his career EVER PROJECTED to HOF caliber BY ANY MEASURE?? He hasn't redefined the PF position in anyway. His numbers aren't eyepopping compared to other elite PF's. And he's never made an All NBA team, and has never won a ring.

When looking at K Love, his Minny days were CLEARLY HOF caliber numbers. In NBA history, (since the three point line was around) he's BASICALLY the only true PF who is a dominant rebounder, very effective passer, and a great shooter in one. He's been All NBA multiple times, has a gold medal, and has a title.

Sure Millsap can be a better fit on certain teams in terms of defense or the money spent to acquire him. Hell, he could get the SAME NUMBERS Love could as a 3rd option. BUT I just don't see an argument for Millsap over Love in general as a player. Millsap WILL NOT MAKE THE HOF! Love on other hand if he stays healthy should have very good shot. The Naismith people should know Love's numbers took a hit to win rings. Love just needs to pad his resume with rings, All Star game appearances, All NBA teams, etc.

:wtf: you must mean smoke for the drob man crush. There's no question aldridge has a better career and Love with minnesota was better(top 10 in the league). I'm just answering the question who was better last year. Love was underrated during the RS but was nothing too special in the playoffs. Aldridge played pretty well overall even though it helps facing Memphis but was not great after game 2 vs okc. You were one of the guys giving him shit for that and used the same type of criticism, he has "limitations when it comes to playoff basketball". Also people are weighing the playoffs too much now and always have. You play less than a quarter of the season in the playoffs, it shouldn't be split like 20/80.
