View Full Version : Is it safe to say that GS/OKC would draw more interest than GS/S.A.?

I may be stating the obvious here.
As great as the Spurs have been with the addition of new athletic talent, they still have this archaic "boring" label attached to them. OKC, despite their many flaws, still have flashy aspect to them. Networks are probably crossing their fingers hoping OKC can take out the Spurs.

Not to me. This whole year has felt like an inevitable build up to Spurs vs Warriors. Not having that series would be a let down to me.

Spurs can be exciting too but I agree, OKC-Golden State would be the sexier matchup because the NBA likes to build up flashy stars. Kawhi is great but he has no personality :oldlol:

There would be more offense so yes it would draw more interest.

No way. I want to see Steph beat the sh*t out of them like he did in regular season. It would make the season a lot more memorable if GS actually beats a 67 win team in a B2B. However, I am genuinely worried about Steph's return. His ankle should be 100% by now, but who knows how he returns from the knee injury. He awful in game 4 vs the Rockets. If he plays anywhere near that level when he is back, either of three rivals will beat on GS. It would be a shame if GS loses because the best player in the world by far is playing hurt (or gets it reinjured). If Cavs, OKC, or Spurs beat them with Steph in peak condition, than all you can say is props to that team. :applause: I know this is arrogant, but I really don't think either of those teams can beat the Warriors with Curry in peak condition, even though all 3 are looking real hot right now. I am personally hoping for a game 7 series between OKC and Spurs with Spurs going through. If they let me write the future.
I'm sure either series will be amazing.

No the two best teams in the league = ratings.
No, the Warriors would pick the Thunder apart and make them look silly. OKC would not stand a chance. I still don't understand why people think OKC is a threat.
Warriors may dominate the Spurs as well, but at least there's a chance it won't be one-sided.

Full truth being laid down right here. :applause:
Spurs will predictably polish off this pretending Thunder "team" in 5, and then endure a similar fate themselves courtesy of Steph and company. The closest thing left to an unpredictable series in these next two rounds is probably one of the only series that everyone is writing off as over already, which is Toronto vs. Miami.
That is the only series (outside of LeBron going nuts in the finals) still remaining in this postseason which has a remote chance of going to a 6th or 7th game, even though I think conventional wisdom is correct and the Heat will win. And of course the worst part about that is the fact that they're both pretty much competing to be beaten down in a max of 5 games by LeBeast and the gang.

Spurs are beyond boring. Any other team would be more interesting than watching them play.

People still find Spurs boring?
Here's how I look at it. Their style of play has always impressed me but not excited me. They aren't watchable no matter who they're playing the way the flashier Warriors or OKC are. I can watch Russell chuck low efficiency, fringe top 15 player in the league shots, or Curry bomb away from 30 feet even if they're playing Philly, just because they jump off the screen more.
On the other hand, there's no team I enjoy watching more against other ELITE teams than SA, because you are guaranteed to see a truly impressive chess match battle. GSW will trounce either team if Curry is back and doesn't re-injure himself, but at least SA and the Pop dynamic will make things interesting.

It's a myth some people use to defer their fear of losing to the Spurs. They've gotten pretty fun to watch.
SA would be a crazier match up.
OKC is fun to watch because of Westbrook.
Durant is a snooze fest.

The Spurs couldn't draw any money if you dipped them in glue and dragged them through Fort Knox. Only time they get good ratings was playing LeBron
