we NEED a big this off season (unless we get the 3rd pick and surprise the world by drafting bender). and ezeli is one of the few desired bigs this summer. but how much of a price gap is that contract compared to what whiteside will be getting? biyombo will probably decline his PO, so he'll be an affordable C this summer

I think Lakers will offer him a 3 year deal with the 3rd year a team option. DeMarcus Cousins becomes a free agent in 2018, the year Ezelis contract expires. 16 mill is not bad if you can use the 9 mill saved by not giving 25 mill to Whiteside. Lakers can use the 9 mill to resign Bass or maybe offer it to Pau if Lakers can miraculously build a contender. I rather have Pau and Ezeli than Whiteside and Tariq Black.

And people are forgetting that the cap is rising to 90 ****ing mill this off season, that is a 20 million increase in cap space (rising to 108m the season after), not to mention the fact that we already are gonna have a shit ton of cap space due to Roy and Kobe coming off the books (35m to be exact).

That's 55m in cap space we have to play with, and we have 4 talented young guys, lou, and a top pick coming up to lure players to our team. A new head coach, a chance to be THE MAN of the team. Ezeli is the backup plan for Whiteside, but we are also gonna get a big time player. He might not be the best option, but Derozan would at least fill a need and is after all an all star player.

I'm not mad at either of those two lineups, they look pretty solid. Ezeli/Whiteside compliment Randle perfectly, defense is the one of the main reasons we passed on Okafor last year, and these two guys both have built their games around their defensive prowess. Derozan is most likely gonna end up on our team, but we also have a small (faint?) chance at Paul George, although I cannot see Larry ever trading him. Get used to the idea of DD being on the team though, like I said dude is an allstar, and he is young. It could be worse.
