why do we need him when we can just sign durant and whiteside?
russell + jc + kd + randle + whiteside + simmones/ingram.
why trade a pick + randle/russell for PG?

They will end up with DeMar Derozen and the 4th pick.

Honestly (especially if it's Julius) I would do it. You'll have a chance to sign Durant, but you might strike out. PG13 is under contract through 2019 and I don't think he has any no-trade provisions either. That's a perfect two-way wing to build on to attract all the free agents you can want, he's better defensively than FT35, and he's a very good consolation prize.
Giving up Simmons or Ingram is admittedly a big deal, but I guess you have to weigh as a Laker fan what you'd rather have: a franchise cornerstone guaranteed to be in place to attract more stars when the cap expands, or Simmons/Ingram plus an out-of-control Julius whose play-style (even if refined) likely will not be conducive to winning titles in today's game, with a chance at Durant?
If I was a Lakers fan I would trade for George even at that steep price.

Where does the lunacy of these threads end ?
Oh wait, nevermind, it's Laker Nation. What a reliable and objective source. :applause:

There is a 45% chance the Lakers don't get ANY pick this year. They could offer their entire roster for PG13 and get laughed at.

we would love to have him, but I don't think Leisure Suit Larry will let him go.
