I don't want to see my guy Lebron go 2-7 and get dominated by Steph Curry

As much as I like Bron, 2-7 is kinda embarrassing and it seems like it's inevitable too.

Who knows maybe if I don't watch it he might win...but gat damn Steph calm down

Bran had his time as the best but now its gone.

team's used to build to beat Bran, but now Bran's team is trying to fashion itself like the Dubs.

Beta gunna beta I guess.

Alpha days for Bran passed when he took his talents to South Beach.

the team that wins the Finals usually plays the BEST brand of basketball.

so it must be frustrating being a Lebron fan, since his teams are NEVER considered the "smart" teams of the NBA that play the best brand of basketball, like the Spurs, Mavs, and Warriors..

don't you wonder WHY his teams always play this crappy, slow, sluggish, and ultimately inferior brand of basketball that has no chance against the best teams?

the answer is intuitive:

There is a parallel reality where the finals will be Blazers/Raptors. Let that sink in

Who knows? Cavs seem to have paced themselves brilliantly. They will probably go to the finals without a single loss. They most definitely wont be beaten easily.

Yeah but they'll lose which is all that matters.

2/7 is written in the stars. The Cavs can beat neither Warriors nor Spurs, expecting the Thunder or Blazers to make a miracle trip to NBA finals is totally unrealistic.

Not sure why people are certain of the Cavs fate. Independently of competition they are playing the best compared to any other contender. We'll have to see if they can maintain their edge/focus going into the next few rounds but Cleveland should be the favorites at this point.

THIS IS NOT FAIR!

My boy Lebron did all that he could to stack the deck in his favor and now it's all been for nothing and he's going to be 2/7 because Curry owns his life! Oh well, at least I'll get to see 2/7! What a time! To be able to witness Lebron's best be nothing more than Kobe's worst!

Cavs and Spurs better pay attention. Curry sent a message last night. They will not only need to beat the Warriors but they'll need to beat Curry's will to win. Does any player of the Spurs or Cavs want to win as badly as Curry does? I don't think so. That will be the difference.

Uh, yes. I don't think a "will to win" is going to end up mattering. Please don't act like you can measure some arbitrary intangible attribute for a player. Obviously the Cavs will try extremely hard to win the championship, but that doesn't matter. It comes down to talent, execution, habits, and coaching.

It matters. This isn't a game played by robots. Emotions matter in this game. If you are willing to die on the court but your opponent isn't, it will show in the preparation, execution and focus.

Yeah, Dwight Howard who's at home watching the Finals won't have the same will to win as any of the players who are in the finals.

Every player who is out there is going to want to win. It's stupid to say they wont want to.

You totally missed the point. I never said there are players that don't want to win. I said some want to win more than others. Dwight Howard is a perfect example. Curry wants to win more than Howard and that's OBVIOUS.

They lost, that MUST mean they dont want to win bad enough. It can't be because they just weren't good enough, or didn't play well enough...it HAS to be because they didnt WANT to win!

Cavs fans know they will need to outplay Curry to win. Dude is an assassin and clutch as hell. They saw it (again) last night and they're still shook because they know what's up. Acting like overcoming a guy that can drop 17 in overtime and dance on the court while yelling out, "I'm BACK!" to the opponent's fans is all about X's and O's. :oldlol:

How on earth are the Cavs the favorites?

Irrespective of competition they've easily been the best team in the playoffs. The only thing that changes that is if Curry can maintain his health, which I mentioned in my above post. Maybe favourite is a bit of an overstatement but people are seriously underestimating the Cavs potential to win it all because right here and now they are playing their best ball while others haven't found their top form as of yet.

People love to down play the cavs shredding one of the best defensive teams in the NBA and prop up the warriors for having trouble beating a team that would have been the 8th seed in the East.

The Cavs actually have a system to battle golden state.

I think Ty lue is more modern in his approach than Blatt. He is going to experiment more. I think you see lebron match up with draymond to reduce his effectiveness while Frye and Thompson take bogut out the game.

If this is a match up I have Cleveland in 6. There's something about them this year.

I've noticed that a lot of modern basketballs fans do not appreciate psychological advantages as much as they should.
The will to win is the single most important attribute in a player and a team. Or heart in other words.
There's a reason hustle guys are so valuable and usually play on winning teams, because they're winning teams because of them.
There's an old saying in basketball that the team who wants it more always wins and it's true, talent doesn't come far without heart

How would LeBron reduce draymond's effectiveness?
He was shit tier horrible in the last two finals and way below average defensively for like 3-4 straight seasons now.
Seriously, guarding Rose for a few quarters effectively or denying Pau Gasol the ball on 4 possessions doesn't make you a great defender for many years to come. He hasn't been a good defensive player for a long time now.

The Cavs have the personnel to beat the warriors.

They have LeBron who ... we all saw what he could do against them last year. They can't actually stop a legit GOAT level player from scoring.

They have a healthy Kyrie Irving, who is nowhere near as streaky and reliant on his three pointer as Damian Lillard. Then they've got a team full of shooters and a solid small ball lineup.

They would need to make it an ugly, defensive, physical series and place a premium on defense, rebounding and drawing fouls to slow the tempo. They'd have to play with a chip on their shoulder and try to knock the smirk of the Warriors faces. Put a stop to all the prancing, dancing and flexing. They would need to make it personal. Like the 84 Celtics.

I don't look at the past when a player has made changes. Lebron is better on d this year and doing everything to help that defense. Draymond actually has to play defense on lebron and it would be a good match up on the small ball Era.

Kyrie is not as cold as Lillard and will be able to get his shots.

I honestly see Cleveland in 6. That is if both teams meet in the finals.
