View Full Version : Why is there less hate for Spurs' Ring Chasers?

Everyone hated Lebron for forming a super team in Miami. Joining an unproven coach, not knowing if it will work or not.
Aldridge is an allstar, arguably top 3 PF in the league abandoning his team to join a 5 time champion, a proven formula, top 3 coach in NBA history with finals MVP, and yes 3 aging stars etc etc.
David West, a proven allstar turn his back on his team Indiana to join and to play BACK UP to Duncan and Aldridge.

Spurs are the big team immune to criticism a lot of the time. A reporter said that Duncan joining Spurs would cause the least flak from Duncan for being a ring chaser. Yes the 3rd best player in the NBA joining a 67 win team who won the chip 2 years ago should get little flak for being a ring chaser, even though they picked up LMA the summer before.

You answered your own question.

Are you comparing LMA and West to Lebron? Lol
Even if Durant leaves to the Warriors, it wouldn't be as bad.

You've got to:
1. Be a definite top 3 player
2. Have a team coming off 66 and 61 win seasons
3. Nationally televise your decision
4. Have your previous team/owner watch to know the decision
5. Join another top 3 player in his prime
6. Announce not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4....etc
7. Cover your receding hairline with a fake patch of hair/headband
8. Wear a check my stats shirt
9. Not join dunk contests multiple times as promised
10. Lie about the number 23 and spew a lot of other BS

Not comparable.

What about Ray Allen getting hate for joining the Heat, but nobody gives a **** when LMA and West does the same?

I don't recall any hate for Ray. He was like 37. If there was any hate, it'd be because he didn't stay another year with the original big 3, or because of the whole Rondo fiasco.

Duncan, Manu, and Tony Parker are all past their peaks. Totally different set of circumstances. It's called Transition of Talent....which is that way it's supposed to be in acquiring talent.

Wade and Bosh were also past their peaks. :confusedshrug: And Allen was 37 years old. It wasn't like he was in his prime.

Because Aldridge is no LeBron. He literally could not win a championship where he was, while LeBron is talented enough but still felt the need to take the easy way.

Wade and Bosh were still in their primes when they joined forces with LeBron.

Wade and Bosh were both clearly past their primes after 2012 when Ray joined them. Are you really going to tell us that 2012 wade was as good as 2006 finals wade? :facepalm

Neither could Lebron. Nobody is winning as championship with Mo Williams as 2nd option.

The main reasons why Le Bron is hated for joining Miami are as follows...

1. He left his HOMETOWN team....and Ohio fans are IMO the best fanbase in sports. LeBron was loved like a son he was family....

to top it all off...when he left the Cavs were a really good team ( best record in the NBA and HCA through out the playoffs)that was close to winning a title.

He betrayed his team...and most importantly the fans that were most loyal to him.

2. He was a superstar!...He was a NBA super duper star that was on the best team over the season!...an MVP!...

and he left to join another NBA Superstar! who he was competing against...his main rival in the east?...all while in his absolute prime?

we never seen that before ( comparing Lebron to LMA is nowhere near the same catagory....we never seen superstars or elite players/MVP's join other superstars in thier prime)

3. The " decision"....not 1 ...2....3.....4....5....6.....not..7..not...8....: facepalm

.....he was so unaware of his own B!tchmoves....and dirty deeds...

- I actually hope Cleveland does win a title soon......the fans deserve it ...for everything Bron put them through.

- for years Bron stans have always said ..." Titles are overrated....they don't matter....stats and efficientcy matter"......." FG%....is important"

the ironic thing is....Bron quit on a 65 win team to get Titles!:lol

and he did prove Titles can be overratted...when you leave to join 2 other superstars in your prime.....and barely win 2 titles ( not really earth shattering considering the circumstances)

all while putting up the biggest choke job in the history of the NBA

Because these are role players mostly, no one has a problem with old players trying to fight for a ring before they retire.

How did Cleveland do after LeBron left? How were the Spurs before Aldridge joined?

Why are you outright lying? 2012 was still prime Wade and Bosh days, but we're not even talm 'bout 2012 here, we're talm 'bout 2010 when they originally formed. And you're also confusing peak with prime. And no, Wade was not at his absolute peak anyway in 2006. 2009 Wade for instance was a top 3 MVP candidate. WTF? Are you retarded or so twisted in your insecure fandom that you would blatantly resort to fiction and tall tales? Stop trolling, Branvestite.

Because none of those players are close to passing Kobe. Once James had another great player to play with, they got nervous as hell. Now that he's surpassed Kobe it's all down hill for them

Because those players are nowhere near the level that Bron is...

Nobody gave a **** about Juwan Howard's washed ass ring chasing either. They're not future first-ballot HOF level players.

LMA and West were free agents joining an already good team. Lebron specifically orchestrated the joining of three of the top players, including himself the #1 overall, in an already weak conference. You could say they are all ring chasers but one really doesn't compare with another.
