I just don't get how DeRozan completely lost all confidence during the playoffs. It was so painful to watch him yesterday drive the ball to the hole with no purpose or utilize his athleticism to get a clean shot off. Then you watch COJO and he went to the rim at will and was able to be decisive in trying to get his shot finished.

Either way, this year's playoffs proved DeRozan is NOT worth max money and cannot carry a team. Him signing with the Lakers will probably make him regress even more from the spotlight and pressure for playing in LA.

I think Mitch is a good GM. I honestly think it's Jim Buss, who has overriding power who makes these dumb decisions.

Mitch is the guy who got:

Pau Gasol for nothing
CP3 in a great trade
Howard in a great trade

Those are franchising changing deals. The Gasol trade led to 2 titles. The CP3 trade, if approved, could've led to a couple more.

Thing is, I'm not saying guy hasn't made decent moves, just that Laker fans think he's the GOAT GM and sh*t. He gets ALL the credit whenever they land someone, even players that were originally brought over by West. :oldlol:

BTW, that Gasol trade would never happen with any other opposing GM. Jerry West did the Lakers a solid.

when it comes to blockbuster trades, theres no one better than mitch. hes also had a pretty keen eye for drafting value with low picks. but when it comes to tier 2 level FA's, hes always been underwhelming. in recent memory, hes overlooked that crop of players, blindly swinging for a home run tier 1 free agency signing. and when those fail, they say theyll rely on his superstar plan B the next summer and plan C the summer after that

To casual fans with only name recognition to their NBA knowledge, that attempt will keep them happy (and ignorantly excited). but to fans of the team that know you can improve the roster other than signing superstars, this lack of tier 2 level meetings will leave them with a nasty taste in their mouth
