Kobe: 1 mvp
Curry: 2 mvps

obviously there is still a disparity for "ringzzzz bro!" But i think this discussion is valid. Whos better?

Kobe has never been even 80% as good as current Curry.

But career-wise? Kobe is still ahead by miles.

It depends upon what the ranking criteria is. From an impact on the game standpoint, Kobe isn't even top 25. As careers? Kobe is legit top 10

People forget Curry is already 28 years old.. dude is only 4 years younger than LeBron.

He became so good, really late, which is ****ing incredible, but also makes it hard to tally up more of these elite seasons.. he wont be dropping 35 footers by 32.

Yeah because getting old makes it so you can't shoot as far? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

If anything most player's range increase with old age for multiple reasons

The problem is your a lebron stan, just cause lebron stopped learning how to shoot 3 pointers at 31 years old doesn't mean everyone does that shit, that is only lebron

Curry right now is better than Kobe ever was. This is obvious. I put a high emphasis on peak positive impact and less on overall accolades and longevity, so yeah I already rank Curry ahead of the Brick Mamba and it's been that way for awhile.

But in terms of career achievements no way it's even close right now. Curry has been truly elite for 2 years, and ATG for one year. Kobe has 5 rings, 2 FMVP, countless All-Defense first teams (though the merit of several of those is in very real question), and several scoring titles. He's obviously had the better career because one guy is entering his late 20s and the other guy is done.

When it's all said and done, Steph will devour Kobe all-time by any objective measure.

Dirk is 37 and 7 feet tall

Why are you comparing his wear and tear to a 6'3'' guard when he will be 32 ?

Curry's gameplay fits the game of a better Steve Nash...Curry doesn't rely on first step speed to blow by people..that's not his game. We saw how Steve Nash played at a high level into his mid to late 30's...we will see the same with Steph.

Curry's peak this year has passed Kobe 2006 or Kobe 2009. Even if Curry "only" averages 25 ppg from here on out in the playoffs. So that is pretty much a given.

To pass Kobe career wise, we'd need at least another year or two from Curry at this current GOAT-like level, followed by 2-3 more top 5 level years (ie on a level similar to 2015 Curry or current Westbrook).

Obvious?

Based on playoffs dominance (which should be the main concern) he is not there yet compared to 2008-2010 Kobe. It it was like that in last years playoffs as well.

BAsed on regular season....sure. But you can say that about anyone not named Jordan.

Not a big Kobe fan but I'm not going to sit here in my momma's basement and let people just downgrade him like this. Curry is definitely a better shooter but what about over all game. Kobe could cross you up, was VERY athletic, fast and clutch. Not to mention he could lock down positions 1-4 if he tried. Kobe was more athletic than D wade in his prime.

What if Primebe played for this Warriors team? Would they not win a bunch of championships?

ImKobe

Curry tied Steve Nash for MVPs

only need 4 more rings and at least 2 FMVPs to tie Kobe in that regard

Kobe same age had better Playoff runs and more titles

Curry benefits from not having to play defense on a team that has elite defenders at every other position (Klay, Iggy, Green, Bogut), Kobe earned his first 3 rings on both ends of the court.

No, he wasn't more athletic than prime D Wade. Athleticism isn't just jumping high... Wade was lighting quick and fast. He had better body control. Wade's athleticism>>Kobe's and it's not that close either.

Kobe's vertical might have been just a little higher than Wade.(I doubt it) Wade beats him pretty much in ever other area.
