Donovan is better than you thought, he was a great coach in his college career at Florida, clearly an above average NBA coach at worst. If Brooks still coach the Thunder, Spurs would've won it in 5.

1. Who acts like he's unbeatable in close games?
2. Who care if they're sh***y coaches when they have guys like KD, Russ, Lebron, Dirk, etc.
Looking at his resume compared to those coaches...well, there is no comparison. What's the point of this thread again? Great coaches sometimes lose big games? What brilliant insight!

His decline as an in-game manager has been truly staggering

He choked in 13 too, to Brans advantage.

He definitely deserves some blame for this. This just can't happen on your watch on back to back nights against a capable team.
Spurs in 7. It's tough to think about right now in the wake of these meltdowns, but they really did play the better game for almost all of the night tonight. We'll really see what this group is made of with their backs against the wall now.

Why are people pretending this guy isn't the best coach in current form since Phil Jackson? The series is 3-2. Relax.

No one said he was a bad coach. Or even overrated. But he is in fact beatable in big games. Especially on his turf.
04- blows 2-0 lead over lakers. They lose 4 straight
06- get their s.hit pushed in by Diop and lose game 7 in SA
11- lose in first round to 8th seed
12- blow 2-0 lead over thunder
13- one of the biggest collapses in NBA history
And those are just the big ones. Losing to clippers and getting swept by Phoenix were als pathetic. But not enough to be listed. Hall of fame coach. One of the best ever. But people need to stop using his name as an end all for taking a series. He has lost to a murder's row of terrible coaches in the playoffs.

The loss as a 1-seed to Lionel with no Rudy Gay (even with the Manu injury) is another stain for sure, minor as it may be.

He can only do so much with Kawhi's choking.
