Are there anything in the works for him?

I think he was fantastic in Civil War probably the best thing about the movie. Great costume. Great character.

Can he carry a movie on his own? Would his backstory be good enough to make a movie?

Fantastic actor.

The movie is already part of Marvels current phase, and scheduled to come out in 2018 I believe. It was supposed to come out in 2017, but then Marvel got the rights to Spider-Man and are putting that out first

I don't mind that. It would be a great change of pace in a 3rd world society.

I was skeptical about the character but I have high hopes for something in the making.

BP movie in 2018

Doctor Strange
Benedict Cumberbatch steps up to the plate to join the Avengers on November 4th. From brilliant but annoying surgeon to superhero, Doctor Strange will finally bring us one of the strongest members of the Marvel universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The first Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge hit, so it’s no wonder a sequel is in the works. Chris Pratt and Co. will return to the big screen on May 5th, 2017.

Spider-Man: Homecoming
The Spider-Man we saw in Civil War was different from every other Spider-Man in recent years. He’s younger, slightly confused, and hilarious.

Tom Holland will play Spidey in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is set for a July 7th, 2017 release.

Thor: Ragnarok
Who knows what side Thor will pick in Civil War? But we know that he and Loki will be busy in Thor: Ragnarok, come November 3rd, 2017.

Black Panther
Raise your hand if you just loved Black Panther in Civil War. A standalone movie also starring Chadwick Boseman as the panther will hit theaters on February 16th, 2018, with Creed director Ryan Coogler at the helm.

Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1
The titles for the two new Avengers movies aren’t set in stone, but we couldn’t be more excited about them. The Infinity War stories are supposedly fascinating, and we can’t help but wonder how our superheroes will settle the Civil War conflicts. Part 1 debuts on May 4th, 2018.

Ant-Man and the Wasp
Paul Rudd will reprise his Ant-Man role for a new episode, and Evangeline Lily will be at his side as the Wasp. Unsurprisingly, the sequel is titled Ant-Man and the Wasp and it comes out on July 6th, 2018.

Untitled female lead Marvel project (probably captain marvel)
According to Business Insider, the first female lead of a Marvel adaptation is set for a March 8th, 2019 launch, with producers still casting the lead. Could this be the Black Widow standalone project we’ve heard rumors about?

Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2
Part 2 of Infinity War should conclude the third phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe. The movie premiers on May 3rd, 2019, almost a year after the first episode.

The US movie goer, even among comic fans, probably wouldn't get all that excited about it. Spiderman, Iron-Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America's stories are all tied to the US and are (mostly) American heroes.

Black Panther would be based in a fictional country in Africa where they are arguably the most technologically advanced in the world (yeah, talk about a huge divorce from reality). Not to mention that Black Panther was never a top-tier hero. He's basically a crappy version of Batman.

Black Panther might have worked with a younger, pre-prison version of Wesley Snipes, but not with a relatively unknown actor.

I have no doubt that it could be a very good movie, but I'd have big doubts as to whether it would be a big moneymaker. Ant Man was a very good movie, but barely made any money. Cost 130M to produce and only grossed 180M domestically.

iron man was a c list hero

marvel made a hit movie staring han solo, a sentient tree and a talking racoon in space...

ant man made 520 million worldwide. ant....man...

i trust marvel will do the right thing.

Black Panther has potential, if they do it right

The whole son of royalty, child soldiers, blood diamonds etc... Could be really good. If they do it right.

marvel is not concerned about laying bad eggs. their tunnel vision is too good. he is important enough for the next avengers phase. that's why marvel introduced him in a blockbuster avengers movie rather than a stand alone like ant man. maybe the last infinity stone is in africa. these stand alone characters like ant man, panther, doc strange are not being thrown millions in production for nothing. they are tied to the overall avengers agenda. and they know theaters will fill up in these tying films anyway.

Yes, he was awesome with an accelerated backstory, so of course he would be with a more fleshed out story.
