You could actually be right. His defensive decline is actually shocking. He did make up for it by becoming a solid 3pt and midrange shooter, but his defense was all based on athleticism... and he went from leading the league in blocks, to barely getting a block per game in the playoffs. Only injuries and age do that, and Serge's injuries haven't been too bad.

Scrubaka has always been a terrible post player on offense and defense.

Really the only aspect of defense he was good at was weakside shotblocking.

Back then he was averaging 3 blocks a game (7.5% BLK), peaking at 3.7 (BLK% of 10)

Now? He at 2 blocks a game last 2 seasons (5% BLK) but this postseason he blocking 1 shot a game on a BLK% of 2!!!!:biggums: :biggums:

Used to be a decent defensive rebounder not he aint. He physically gets manhandled by guards on loose balls or when he grabs a board right under basket.

Ibaka does not belong on the floor at the end of games anymore. He never gets a 50-50 ball, doesn't box out (Kawhi got an offensive rebound on him at the end of game 3), weak hands, and he bites on every pump fake. Anyone born in Africa is suspect, because no one there keeps track. It's not like some dude born in a village is registered, only if the parents go to register and that can be many years later. So Ibaka might have been born in Congo and his parents went to France with him and they knew he was a good player so they lied him younger so he could dominate younger players.

This happens ALL THE TIME in soccer. It's like the teenage phenomenon some years back Freddy Adu was another case and he looks 40 today but claims to be 26.

Ibaka is one of the most curious cases in the NBA to me, his game changed so dramatically. His first 3 years, he was known as a defensive juggernaut and would average 3+ blocks per game, and only attempted 6 threes for the first 3 years of his career.


Now he averages 1 block a game and shoots three 3 pointers every night...Used to be a post player, now you usually catch him on corner 3's or atop the key.
