Your a much better player than Kobe Bryant and fans around the world would want to catch a flight to the US just to see his last season. Duncan deserves a goodbye from the fans :applause:

A farewell tour for one of the top 3 players of all time in Kobe Bryant is not cringey. It the proper way to send him off. Duncan does not come even close to that type of greatness

His legacy is set in stone, top 5 all time.

And the Thunder were the team to end his career and the big 3 era. #NeverForget

No shame in Duncan losing to the Thunder, Warriors, or Cavs to end it all. It would have been nice for his last game to be against a career rival like LA, but that franchise was left in ruins and hasn't seen the playoffs in a long time...nor will it for years to come.

L.A. is garbage and will remain that way for another decade at least. At least during Duncan's final season, he lead his team to the GOAT franchise record and a winning record against every other team in history (including L.A. who stays losing to the Spurs).

you're right. Going out in a upset loss in the playoffs with HCA while averaging 2ppg on 28% is much, much better

Yes, they should be like the Lakers, undefeated in the 2016 playoffs! :applause:

Duncan is an ATG, but an old man and a shell of what he once was.

The fall-off this year has been pretty drastic, like Kareem's falloff from the 86/87 season to 87/88 season. Or worse yet, his falloff from 87/88 to his last season.

For some reason Kobe's playoff stat table is 5 rows shorter than his regular season one. I'm looking into it.

I choose to see it not as the fall-off this year has been pretty drastic, but that the play from last year was way above what should be expected from a 39 year old. This year's playoff is what is expected of a 40 year old. Even the regular season was pretty good - 1st in DBPM and 2nd in DRating but since the soreness in the knees through the playoffs have been sad for TD.

Seems like the end is near for Roger Federer too - got over a knee injury and now a back injury. No escaping Father Time.

Kobe has more "prime" seasons than Duncan, Duncan hasn't averaged 20 points a game since 2007 and hasn't played over 34 mpg since 2004

Duncan in his 19th season is a walking corpse and can't produce more than 2-5 points for his team in the Playoffs while Kobe went out with 60 points despite tearing his achilles, breaking his knee and tearing his rotator cuff in a 3-year span

There goes your longevity argument

Kobe's teams are 4 - 2 against Duncan's in the Playoffs, Kobe destroyed Duncan H2H 4 out of the 5 times they played in this century.

Kobe's offensive ability is far ahead of Duncan's while their accolades on defense are pretty similar: Duncan has a couple more defensive 2nd teams while Kobe is tied for most first teams all-time.

Duncan is mainly known for his ability to rebound and protect the rim, however he NEVER led the league in rpg (or TRB%) or bpg and hasn't averaged a double-double since age 33.

And we all know that Duncan benefits from having played under the same coach for all of his career under an organization that has put quality players around him that allowed him to tie Kobe in rings in the first place, as Duncan himself hasn't won a Finals MVP since 2005 despite being in contention for more titles than Kobe. Duncan has an all-time Finals choke to his name in 2013, when he blew a wide open layup to tie the game at the end of a Game 7..

tsk tsk tsk

Kobe 4 > Duncan 2. Kobe owns Duncan

Well not like Duncan being on the Lakers instead of Kobe would have put them in the playoffs lol.

If Kobe was averaging 9 ppg while winning the most regular season games he's ever won, the haters would be going crazy.

Duncans like the 7th best player on his team and the Spurs just had their goat regular season. If that was Kobe, there would be threads about it every day about how he sucks and is getting carried. I mean, the guy averages 30/7/6 one year and people on ish still say he was carried.

Just enjoy the Duncan double standard (how many series losses will this be with HCA again?) and move on.
