I've always been a huge fan of the Olympics, it's always competitive and it showcase all types of sports. However, this one is hosted at Brazil, and it's bad timing.

-Residents are tryna impeach the President
-Zikas Virus
-Waters are polluted af
-Violence
- and more

This was on CNN today: (http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/11/sport/rivaldo-brazil-olympics-2016/index.html)

(CNN)With the Olympics set to begin in less than three months in Rio de Janeiro, one of Brazil's most successful soccer players has a surprisingly ominous message for international visitors: Stay away.

Brazil is getting "more ugly," said Rivaldo, who was on the country's 2002 World Cup-winning squad, forming part of a lethal attacking trio with Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.

Rivaldo warned people on social media about the violence plaguing the city, citing the killing of a 17-year-old girl over the weekend.

The message is likely to frustrate the country's leaders, who have been trying to dispel the notion that Brazil is not ready for the games and Rio is not safe for tourists.

I'd primary be worried about that zika though...

i visited brazil in 2012, and i remember spending like 3 hours in line to mail a package. there were only 2 people in front of me. it was f--king unbelievable how slow they were.

that was just a very small scale of their services. but expand that type of work-attitude and speed to the scale of the olympics, and you can imagine how every type of delivery is unreliable and f--ked up.

even fking near-empty restaurants took forever to cook our FAST food.

Rio de Janeiro was primarily evaluated during the Applicant phase, accurately on March 14, 2008, when the IOC Working Group released its report after four days of meetings, giving a weighted-average score of 6.4 to the bid.

The Working Group also gave an 8.3 score to Tokyo, 8.1 to Madrid, 7.0 to Chicago, 6.9 to Doha, 5.3 to Prague and 4.3 to Baku; being the basis for the selection to the Candidature phase.

So, this post is two fold...

A) Rio was middle of the pack as far as potential cities were concerned and

B) Rio, with all it's toxic water, disease, and violence, was rated a 6.4 while Chicago was rated a 7.0.

same way sochi got the winter olympics despite it being a subtropical and humid resort. it's 52 degrees in the winter there with palm trees ffs!

olympic bidding is a sham designed to make the ioc members rich.

I'm guessing most european countries as Norway dont want to spend 500 mil on the olympics

And if safety is such a problem, why was it not a problem during the world cup?

I have yet to not have to wait at least an hour on flights in America. United airlines are easily the worst

Had to wait three hours because it was windy in Chicago. The WINDY city.. Also in Denver and NY because of snow.. And it literallly was less than half a CM with snow both times

Had to wait 6 hours to get into and music festival in Switzerland.. Because they had to take every glass bottle from everyone before entering the camp spot

Snow isn't the issue, ice is.

I'd skip it unless you have a pretty bad-ass security team traveling with you. That country is going through a crisis that will get worse.
