Jamal Crawford, A CURRENT NBA PLAYER!!!! on probably the 5th or 6th best team in the league ADMITS AND AGREES WITH T-MAC AND BARKLEY THAT THE LEAGUE WAS WATERED DOWN!!!
"The game is less physical that since I started, more grown men were in the league at that time" !!!!!
BWAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Jamal Crawford started his career in the SECOND WORST era for NBA basketball, the early 2000's with the flagrant foul rule existing, a bunch of high schoolers ruining the game and hard hand checking being eliminated from the game!!!
Can you imagine the 80's and early 90's!?!? Where the NBA didn't go overboard in protecting players!!!!
Steph Curry, the POSTER BOY for the current perimeter oriented SOFT NBA! And just so there is no DOUBT, here's Steve Kerr, his coach:

It's funny because the 80's celtics and Lakers fans used to say the same thing about the 90's bulls who were playing in a "watered down, expansion league".
Same people who made the argument that Jordan had to wait for the pistons to get old, Bird to retire, Kareem to retire and Magic to get AIDs for him to start winning anything now look as stupid as the people like OP who are saying the exact same thing about todays current league.

He's not lying, especially Barkley and tmac as well. This league is so pussified that it's not even funny. We have a manufactured star who goes to the finals every year and loses.

I'm not the only one saying it, Steve Kerr and Jamal Crawford agree!!! LOL!!!
The league definitely became watered down in the late 90's but the thing with Michael is that he was taking the Bad Boy Pistons to the limit back in 89 and 90 even though he had an inferior team and before ANY RULE CHANGES took place!!!
Do I think the 90's Bulls win 6 titles in the 80's? HELL NO!!! But they would've definitely won a few, Jordan was just THAT FRIGGIN GOOD!

You can't believe an NBA player on what it's like to play in the NBA. Your own personal beliefs and biases are much more accurate than someone with first hand experience.

It used to be Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, KG, TMac, Iverson, Dirk, Wade, and Lebron fighting for MVP in the first decade of this centure. Now it's a Lebron exiting his prime vs Curry. Pathetic state of affairs for the NBA. One stacked team like Golden State. It really is a golden era for stacked teams. There is no competition.

Didn't Kobe basically say the same thing a few years back about how soft the league is?
Vragrant

Its funny, when Lebron was winning MVPs (especially his 2 year run in Miami), Barkley had nothing to say about his mancrush playing in a watered down league.
Now that Curry wins 2 straight, its the league who is making Curry look great.
I wonder if the Clippers ever make the finals or win the title if Crawford will say they won because the league is watered down, and not what it once was.

Well he plays for the Clippers, the Warriors' biggest rival. Plus Golden State completely own them.

What does that have to do with an era being not as physical as another?

05-11-2016, 09:53 PM
It was watered down in the 80s and 90s, but more physical
League is more talented now due to 30x as many athletes trying to become NBA players than in the 80s and 90s with increased practicing and conditioning
past NBA consisted of smoking cigarettes and punching people
new NBA consists of better playmaking, shooting, passing, dribbling, etc.

Actually, there are fewer kids playing basketball in the USA today than there were in the past.

Are we supposed to take Kerr and Crawford's opinions as facts?
Sorry OP, you are not changing my mind about today's league, curry or the warriors.
Current Warriors would beat any 90's team. Current Curry is better offensively than Jordan ever was.
Eat shit and deal with it.

Wilt said the 80's was extremely soft. He said the 90's was even softer and you can't guard anyone with the soft rules.
Yet we have people here saying the opposite.

Notice how he talks about physicality and then mentions flagrant fouls.
That is the only thing that has changed. A foul back then is a foul now. Flagrant fouls are simply more easily handed out. And it is a good thing. It gets the game going quicker and settles players down into not doing anything stupid.
A lot of the stuff old guys complain about, is that they don't have the option to take a frustration foul and get away with it today. That is good. Either play basketball or go do boxing/MMA. If you can't beat someone without trying to hurt them, you don't deserve to be there.

I think you mean fewer kids in the US playing street ball, but more are playing indoors. And btw, bball has become a worldwide sport so hella more ppl are playing bball now - so now we're seeing athletes from Canada, Germany, Australia, China, etc.
baseball has become boring to young people in the US, so great young athletes are playing basketball instead

No, I mean less are playing indoors. And almost none are playing outside. I'll post a few articles soon.
