Don't know the whole story but his father was a Nazi SS officer and not the nicest person apparently. He and Arnold didn't get along because his father thought that he might have been some other man's son. He only ever showed any affection to Arnie's older brother, who died after driving drunk and crashing his car.

Just typical dysfunctional family shit.

Arnold did take care of his brother's son though. Paid for his education and helped him emigrate to the U.S. He's a partner at a powerful Beverly Hills law firm now.
