Have a feeling its going to be bad.....Hollywood running out of ideas......Its now reboot of old movies or video games turning into movies...

It's either gonna be impossibly good or impossibly bad. Great actor though.

They got the look down, but the concern is the story and the trailer did nothing to convince me it will have a good story.

Never seen him in any other roles?

I feel like Fassbender is the best actor there is right now.

This is a bad role for him, a video game action flick...the audience for this movie will only be gamers.

Maybe he just wants to prove he can do anything...

He didn't need to be in this movie for me to believe he could be in this movie.

ha, yep

If someone had told me there was going to be an Assassin's Creed movie, I would have definitely assumed the lead would be some B-list actor that can't get a decent role elsewhere.

Maybe they just threw a shit load of money at him...

This is most likely.

The two leads do actually make this something worth tracking. I've actually played all of these games, and in spite of griping about them, it's probably a series I've put more time into than anything else.

I was a little freaked out seeing The Animus in the opening there, because in the games I really dislike the modern day part of the story, but I suppose without it as an introduction, the rest either makes no sense, or you may as well just make a period action piece.

It is probably better fair for a movie than most video game stuff. It has some stealthy spy like elements to it, it can be run as a period piece, and the sci fi element can play as a driver, without taking up the whole plot.

All that said, I wasn't terribly fond of some of the CGI in that trailer, and to me that will absolutely have to work for this to be good.
