He was signed to be part of the new Era for the Spurs. If he continues after a couple seasons to never touch the Conf finals then you can point to him as a Chris Paul. :lol

i dont see what's so bad? he gets to play at home, with great team, with great coach, still winning every every season, possible WCF/Final every year, still core players, got his cash..

what is there to complain?

He was brought in to replace Duncan, but he clearly is no Duncan.

Who would of predicted that the Spurs and the Blazers would finish the season at the same position.

c'mon man, we all know it very well.
blazers this year was just like rockets last year.

blazers made to 2nd round due to absence of blake and cp3.
rockets made to wcf cos Jesus took over brewer & josh.

These guys had one of the greatest regular seasons of all time. 67 wins, 40-1 at home and they lose in the 2nd round with homecourt to a 55 win team.

Everybody got all excited when Aldridge hit all those shots in games 1 and 2 and I knew he would cool off dramatically and fail his team in the end. His shooting in the postseason has been terrible over his career.

All those wins in the regular season just to lose one day after his former team.

He reminds me so much of Harden because I never seen either one of them box out on every play, dive for balls, or show any emotion other than having a blank look on their face when things go bad. Its like they only care about offense and the intangibles dont matter.

Wow Tony Parker is falling off. I remembered that year when he killed prime Chris Paul in the play-offs. Nowadays Parker's not ****ing with Westbrook and he has lost a step.

Good point, but the great man stalkerforlife already made the same thread in much better style with an eloquent simile. http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=406715

To be fair, Blazers barely defeated CP3 , Blake, less Clippers team.

If healthy I dont think Blazers stand a chance

He can go to the FT late game is a big difference.

Everyone on the Spurs make free-throws.

If he wanted to score, he can focus on catch and shoot instead of the 3 as most have been thinking. It doesn't add much to his repertoire unless he is staying with one team for the rest.

The Spurs doesn't need him to pass.

The thing is, he can score 40, at ease. You need a better rebounder than him, or specialists in general.

He would be good for the Jazz, but the Jazz doesn't think contending.

Aldridge doesnt really fit the modern small ball NBA as a power forward. Hes too slow to guard vs stretch 4s, but not physical enough to guard against 5s. Offensively his game consists mainly of long 2s, which is pretty much the worst shot to take in the entire game even if he hits them at a decent percentage.

Even if the Spurs had managed to beat the Thunder, Aldridge would have gotten wrecked by draymonds speed + physicality in the next round. I think for him to reach his full potential he needs to play most of his minutes at the 5, but unless he gets stronger physically and mentally thats never gonna happen.

Ironically the Blazers downfall this season was that they needed someone who could play the 5 in small ball and score enough to take defensive pressure off the guards, someone exactly like Aldridge. I imagine things would have gone a bit better for them if it was Aldridge on the floor instead of Plumlee in the 4th quarter of those 3 choke jobs vs the warriors.

Injuries are a part of sport. Look at GS last year, every team they faced had injuries minus the Pelicans. The Blazers backdoor swept Clippers without CP3.
