Who remembers these games? Can't believe I was extremely hyped about watching these (much like I dont understand being a fan of All Star games).

yes I remember. That was actually the golden age of mtv. You could literally turn your tv on anytime of the day and put it on mtv and be entertained whether it was real world, road rules, that show jenny McCarthy had (I forgot the name), I think they had a show called beach jams or something with the hot black chick with the English accent???? TRL with carson daly, then I remember when the guy from road rules Hawaii was the host in the mornings I think...his name was tek I think. Man im sure its a lot of stuff im missing but I miss that era of mtv. Didn't they use to do a celebrity game for football too?? I think that was early 2000s but still fun to watch

I remember. I was never a fan of these types of games. Watching celebrities play basketball is not my cup of tea.

I never liked MTV. Always thought everything on it was cheesy celeb hyping "reality TV" (fake) garbage. Unfortunately now an entire generation that grew up on it has now turned 40 and been inspired to copy that shitty format and apply it to Discovery, History, Nat Geo, etc and ruined many other major television networks entirely.

Reminds me of that channel A&E, they used to show incredible documentaries..like biographies, historical shows, I loved their WW2 docs, famous court cases and more...now they only show crappy reality shows. TV has really gone the crapper.

I remember those rock and jock games...never interested me. In fact even though MTV was better at that time than now..it was already the beginning of the death of that channel.

Yeah I remember seeing guess stars like dean Cain and bill bellamy. It got wack in its last year's tho. I was cool early on like 94,95.

Were these the games that had other baskets like 20-25 ft above the regulation hoop worth more points?

Because if so, yes I remember watching a few of them and looking forward to them as a kid

The game show with Jenny McCarthy was Singled Out. And I don't know if Beach Jams was a thing but I do remember The Grind (wasn't a fan). Also, Sandblast was a fun game show, with a trampoline dunking game, if I recall.

As for Rock n' Jock, as a young fellow coming up through school at that time, I loved 'em. Much better than NBA Celebrity Games because it included current NBA players were weren't afraid to put on a show or humiliate a celebrity. Plus, the 25 foot baskets and all the other shenanigans made for great afterschool viewing. Also, there was no Kevin Hart, so that was a positive.

It doesn't get much better than Shawn Kemp detroying Mark Wahlberg on both ends of the floor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vZffQwl_YA
