Top 10 or not , doesn't matter .
What's the difference between two spot below or above ?

People are way too hung up on top 10 rankings. If someone has Kobe at 10 instead of 11 or vice versa, does it really make a difference?

And who in the blue hell made you in charge of that? :biggums:
Honestly, every media outlet has a different top 10. Kobe is no media darling, so they will be biased. Personally I think he is top 10 but I have not seen the old timers play. All we have are stats to go by that, and I know stats lie. I have watched a stat dominant guy come up small so many times in the current era. Stats do not tell everything.

Stats show that Kobe is a subpar Finals performer, and watching the games would indicate the same.

Ask Jerry West what would he rather be known as, a top 10 player with 1 ring and the most finals loses in NBA history or an 11 time champ like Russell and ranked 12 like Kobe.

This. Every knowledgable fan has him ranked anywhere from 12-17, but he is quickly falling on this list due to stars like Kawhi, Durant, and Curry passing him in the next few years. Hell in 10 years Kobe likely won't even be in anyone's top 20 anymore. :(

Curry is a historic player, so I'll give you that, but in no way are Kawhi and Durant surpassing Kobe's career and peaks "in the next few years".

I have np with Kobe at 11 but don't get him at 12. Have a hard time putting someone like Oscar or West ahead of him.

You can throw a blanket over 8-13.
Kobe, Lebron, Bird, Moses, Hakeem, and Dr. J.
Include Erving's ABA seasons, and he somewhere in the Top-10.

True...but Oscar only had one MVP, and one side-kick ring. And West had zero MVPs, and one side-kick ring (using just the post-season), as well as one FMVP.
Of course, West was one of the greatest playoff scorers of all-time, and his 1/9 in his Finals is actually a positive (despite the idiotic posters on ISH who would rip him for that.)

Dr. J is the most interesting player in these discussions. You could make a case that his peak years came in the ABA....where he won three MVPs, two rings (would have won two FMVP's had the award existed), and three scoring titles.
Add those achievements into his NBA career resume, and he has a solid case for Top-10.
Of course we don't know how many MVPs, or rings, or scoring titles he would have won in the NBA in his ABA years, though, had he been playing in the NBA.
BTW, in his very first season in the NBA, he took his Sixers to the Finals, where, despite losing to Walton's Blazers, he put up a six game series of...
30.3 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.0 apg, 2.7 spg, .543 FG%, and an .857 FT%...which included the clinching game six performance of 40- points, on 17-29 FG/FGA and 6-7 FT/FTA, with 6 rebs, and 8 assists...in a two point loss.

Lol he did that in half a career, the other half playing team ball and dominating. Kobe is in the top 10 easily and only bias posters say otherwise.

Stats don't tell you everything but this "all or nothing" approach is less objective than seeing the overall picture. Stats are an important evaluation of a team and player. For example, if a guy averages 50-40-90, it doesn't tell me everything he does on the court, but it is a good indicator of skills nonetheless. To say it doesn't matter just because it does not measure every aspect of the game is not really being objective at all.

FMVP's my man.
Something that Wade choked away in '11, and watched handed to a teammate in '12 and '13, and then watched an opposing player receive in '14, and in a series in which Wade puked all over floor and his team was wiped out by the most decisive margin in Finals history.

Kobe's 2 and 2 as team leader/the man. His 2nd loss is when he tried to take over the team against Detroit and failed.
LeBron's 2 and 3 since it was still Wade's team in 2011. Then he gave James the keys to the team before the following season.
