In his 13 playoff games, Kyrie now scored 20+ in all but two. Lue and the Big Three have seemingly figured out how to get all of them playing at an extremely high level at the same time.

Kyrie continues to be a nightmare for defenses when he is picking his spots and controlling tempo.

Original post: May 13th:

Kyrie is the leading scorer on a loaded Cavs roster through two rounds on scorching splits of 48% FG, 54% 3PT(!), 81% FT.

Meanwhile, his 3.38 assist-to-turnover ratio is tops in the playoffs among players getting at least 30 minutes a night.

Should be interesting to see if he can keep it going in the next round. Both Miami and Toronto present interesting matchups, but he's playing at such a high level and within the flow of the offense, it would be surprising to see him not maintain his elite playing level.

Kyrie has always been an amazing talent, but the one thing he has struggled with in his young career is sometimes trying to force his will. Sometimes, it is best to let things come to you.

That is why his play has been so encouraging. His skill and talent level were always there. In these playoffs, he's displaying an incredible basketball IQ and doing all of that damage within the confines of the system Lue has put in place.

And, his effort and intensity defensively hasn't wavered. He may still get beaten occasionally, but it isn't for a lack of effort. It's because there are a lot of damn good PGs in this league.

The way he and KLove are playing takes so much stress off of LBJ, he hasn't really even needed to exert himself much through the first two series. All very positive signs for the remainder of these playoffs and going forward.

It feels like Kyrie has grown up quite a bit this postseason.

Means nothing unless he does it in the Finals.

Hes been their best offensive player two straight years now

Kyrie and Love take it to another level in the playoffs. Kevin Love still is undefeated in the playoffs

He's been awesome these playoffs. His three point shot is looking lovely now. He's playing within the offense and did a great job shutting down Jeff teague

Ya I pointed out in another thread that he is the only player capable of out currying curry the other day and made some random Knicks fan catch some feelings lol. KI has been playing great.

He's finally applying his ability to get others open looks due his handles and driving and it's been a thing of beauty.

He still overdribbles way to much sometimes but he's still growing, give him time.

Absolutely. This forum has some retarded thinking.

Any player putting up great numbers at any point of the playoffs is something worth discussing. Its the playoffs ffs.
Kyries been beasting, and if they do make the finals he will need to continue this hot shooting and agressivness to try to match WB or Curry somewhat.

I hope he proves me wrong, but as I've said I think he's going to hurt us in the playoffs with his 1-on-1 ball. Especially if we play the Warriors.

So far he's been a great surprise me to me.

Helps when he faces single coverage literally 100% of the time because Lebron and Love are his teammates, as well as a bevy of good outside shooters.

He will have little problem sustaining that through this round but in the Finals is where he will actually be heavily relied on.

I really hope Kyrie and Love will both show up then Cavs have a great shot even against Warriors.

OP how do you see these 2 performing in the Finals against either West champ?

Love and Lebron both benefit from Irving's scoring ability as well, the trio forces the defenses to play honest and they all get open looks. Lebron gets wide open layups, Love gets wide open corner 3s, Irving gets wide open 3s and single coverage.

Mind you that the teams they have faced aren't exactly great on offense so they don't spend as much energy on playing defense which leads to better production on the offensive end.

And they are playing a team that lost their defensive anchor who also put up 15 points on 55% shooting in the Playoffs and had a 27.5 PER, Lowry has a PER of 14.3 and Derozan is at 12.2 :biggums:

When you have the best handles in the NBA double and triple teams don't matter, we have litterly seen kyrie break them down his entire career.

Kyrie's great. His versatility on offense is what I really, really like. I think he's perfect fit next to Lebron, a little bit more time for chemistry to grow and they will be unstoppable if Lebron does not decline too rapidly.

The only specific thing which bothers me and happens a lot is that when Kyrie draws double or even triple team and goes for a jumpshot, there's almost always Thompson or Love open underneath the basket for an easy dunk but he refuses(does not see maybe?) to pass for an easy basket and rather shots midrange jumper over double team.
