Kobe/Shaq This is the first time I've seen someone list Mikan in their Top 10.. Not saying you're wrong or anything, that's your personal list after-all. But it's quite odd.. :lol

Missing the 1 before the 3, other than that, sounds about right.

HM Duncan and Russell. No I did not disrespect Russell, yes he was great, yes he won 11 rings, but he was helped by having fewer teams and great teammates. He not too 10 but he's top 15 which is still tremendous!

Longevity? Chamberlain played for 14 seasons. And he quietly retired after that. In his last season, he led his team to a 60-22 record, and a trip to the Finals. Furthermore, he led the league in rebounding, and set a FG% mark that remains today. He was also first-team all-defense, and would have had a case for DPOY had the ward existed. Then, in his 17 post-season games, he averaged 22.5 rpg (in a post-season NBA that averaged 50.6 rpg per team...last's year post-season NBA averaged 45.6 rpg per team BTW)...and the next best mark since... 18.3 rpg.

In his very last game of his career...a 23-21 game.

BTW, none other than Larry Brown witnessed Chamberlain dominating a summer league game that featured NBA players, including Magic Johnson...and Wilt was in his mid-40's at the time. Furthermore, Chamberlain was receiving legitimate offers to return to the NBA in his late 40's, and even up to age 50!

Understood. I just put championships first than elite play. It's just my personal thing. If you put his ridiculous personal accolades first, he should be higher than 10. Like top 3-5.

I wasn't arguing with your first list, but rather, just providing some insight to Wilt's career. There is really no question that Chamberlain could have continued to be a force in the league for at least several more seasons, had he continued to play.

As for championships...team game. In any case, Wilt's teams lost five game seven's to the eventual champions, and four of them were by margins of 2, 1, 4, and 2 points. Where would you rank him with 4-5 more rings?

If he won more rings, better FT shooter, clutch moments, etc. He should be undisputed the best ever even over Jordan considering his physical dominance. Jordan probably will be 1B after Wilt.

Just an FYI...

In his 23 "do-or-die" playoff games...

12-11 W-L record

31.1 ppg (Regular season career average was 30.1 ppg)
26.1 rpg (Regular season career average was 22.9 rpg)
3.4 apg (Regular season career average was 4.4 apg)
.540 FG% (Regular season career average was .540 FG%)

3 games of 50+ points (including the ONLY THREE by a GOAT candidate)

5 games of 40+ points (including a Finals 40+ elimination game)

13 games of 30+ points

6 games of 30+ rebounds

20 games of 20+ rebounds

In his 37 must win and series clinching playoff games...

W-L : 24-13

Here were Wilt's averages in those 37 games:

29.5 ppg

26.1 rpg

4.2 apg (missing one game)

.546 FG% (in post-seasons that shot about .440 on average in that span.)

Keep in mind that 24 of those 37 games came after his "scoring seasons" (59-60 thru 65-66)

Included in those "must win" or "series clinching" games...

games of 40, 45, 46, 50, 53, and 56 points.

Nor does that take into account his defensive impact, either. For instance, he held a Bellamy who had shot .541 against the league, to a .421 FG% in their '68 playoff H2H. And an old Wilt held a peak Kareem to two consecutive playoff series of .481 and .457 shooting, in seasons in which Kareem shot .577 and .574 against the rest of the league. Oh, and in their two series clinching games, Wilt outshot Kareem, .545 (18-33) to .383 (23-60.)

Incidently, the recaps of their '71 and '72 playoff H2H's give Wilt a decided edge, In fact, Time Magazine went so far as to claim that Wilt decisively outplayed Kareem in their 72 WCF's.

Having said that, though, I believe that you could throw a blanket over the group of Kobe, Lebron, Bird, Moses, Hakeem, and Dr. J.

In fact, if you include Dr. J's ABA seasons, he has a strong case for Top-10.
