if he finishes this playoff strong and has another year like he did this then he is definitely knocking at the top 10

Stay on course and stay healthy and he'll be top 10. Best shooter in the history of the game, by far.

After he wins this year

1. Godbe
2. Kareem
3. Magic
4. O'neal
5. Bird
6. Russell
7. Curry
8. Wilt
9. Hakeem
10. Duncan

Honestly, another MVP season and 1-2 more titles he'd have an incredible argument for top 10 all time

As someone who puts an extreme emphasis on peak play, I already think he's playing at a clear top 10 all time level. Accolade-wise he needs to accomplish a decent amount more just because of how late (comparitively speaking) in his career he became MVP level and then all-time great.

he needs to make one all nba defensive team

Agreed bu fukc accolades. That's all random shit. If Curry was playing on a garbage team he's still Steph Curry to me.

So you have him higher than Magic all time?

3 MVP, 3 titles(better to be 3-peat), at least 1 FMVP.

If he wins this year again, he'll be in the top 10.

this is how I feel. He needs to get the FMVP tho. But... 2 mvp, 2 rings, broken records shooting wise, unique skill set... I mean, dude is just insane.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0b7BdOgQTM never seen people do shit like that.

Now, if Curry loses this year, IMO, he's not gonna jump into the top 10 with just another ring. It's the whole back to back thing that's gonna get him in.

It's amazing people can hate. Bron was really good, but Curry has been more impressive these two years than Bron ever was.

We'll see how it plays out, but I can see dude being legit top 5. GOAT? I dunno... hard to put that on someone, but he's def better than anyone I've seen... since I started watching srs in 94-95.

People forgot the Warriors just won 73.

He would have to push out hakeem. Back to back as best post season player carrying team to the championship would only tie him. And he hasn't done that yet. Without the elite d and average cast it's hard to put him over. One more stomp to the title, after this one and I could.

Play in an era where you can actually play defense on the perimeter.

That avatar is way better than your old one, curry just needs to keep being this version of curry for a couple more years and it will be hard to argue against him. Will he keep it up? No reason he can't but time will tell.

Jordan shot FAR better than Curry inside 20 feet, on 6 times the volume:

.....................MJ 1997 (http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/893/stats/shooting/?Season=1996-97&SeasonType=Regular%20Season)...................Cur ry 2015 (http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/201939/stats/shooting/?Season=2014-15&SeasonType=Regular%20Season)............ Curry 2016 (http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/201939/stats/shooting/) <--- link to nba.com data

5-9 ft.......... 49.2%, 126 fga........... 40.3%, 72 fga.......... 48.6%, 72 fga

10-14 ft....... 51.5%, 466 fga........... 52.9%, 85 fga.......... 50.9%, 57 fga

15-19 ft....... 49.5%, 594 fga........... 43.9%, 132 fga........ 37.3%, 102 fga

Overall midrange % (all shots inside the 3-point line but outside the paint)

JORDAN 1997:. 49.3%, 1202 fga
CURRY.. 2015:. 41.1%, 285 fga
CURRY.. 2016:. 42.5%, 200 fga

Interestingly, good shooting isn't needed to be a top scorer in today's game - Lebron, Westbrook, Wade, Derozan and Butler all have poor 3-point AND midrange efficiency (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12338297&postcount=47) for most of their careers, yet they're still top scorers because today's wide open spacing and hands-off defense allows athletic players easier access to the rim than ever before.

Today's spacing and hands-off defense would benefit MJ's athleticism the same way, except he had the goat midrange efficiency shown above, which would put him in Curry's category as a goat shooter, and gave him a similarly massive advantage over the aforementioned non-shooters Lebron, Westbrick and company.

A title this year and a regular season MVP, title, or FMVP next year drops bon Bron indefinitely out of the top 11.

Stephs accolades and chips have more value as they come from the WEST and they were done on his original team without ring chasing, all the while stomping a strategically constructed super team, fronted by Bon Bron. Done the right way.

4 chips to be in conversation for top 9.

3 MVP, 3 titles(better to be 3-peat), at least 1 FMVP.
How many players have actually 3 peated as the first option though? Russell, MJ and Shaq?

Well I said better to be a 3-peat, its not necessary really. If he wins three chips and 2 FMVPs then he's top 10. Of course, he can end up in top 10 even if he only has 2 titles and 1 FMVP, but then he will need to play at MVP level in regular season and playoffs for at least 5-6 more years. If he has a 3-peat, hes top 10 even if he retires after 3-4 years.

At least 2 more titles and continued MVP level of play for a few years. Even then it's gonna be hard to rank him over guys like Hakeem and LeBron.

Play at elite level for at least another 8-10 years. Win more titles and more MVPs. Lol at people saying he's already there.

There's really not much he can do. As the years pass by it's getting harder and harder to be a top ten player. If Kobe ended his career 25 years ago he would be a top ten player, but now he's number 12.

Curry depends a lot on his teammates and league rules, he's not as good all around as the players in the top ten club.

Kobe is number 12, and I find him more talented than Curry. He would be able to play at an elite level regardless of era. I can't say the same for Curry. Who would be good because he's the best shooter ever, but his game would not be as it is today.

Consider who's not widely considered top 10:

Oscar when his first 7 seasons was a thirty point triple double, was the only perimeter player to win an MVP in the 60s during prime Russel and Wilt years, and until the 80s, had GOAT consideration.

Moses Malone who has 3 MVPs and longevity.

Dr J who if you include his ABA years, has an extremely impressive resume in stats, accolades and championships for someone in the 10-15 range. Was also considered a GOAT candidate at one time.

West, who is the logo and has incredible playoff and finals stats.

Karl Malone, with his two MVPs during the Jordan era, durability and 2nd all-time points.

One more MVP and another title and he should be in discussion. Two more MVPs and two more titles should lock him in. Right now he's more in the 10-20 range.
