View Full Version : Anyone else feel bad for Kobe?

His legacy seemed set in stone to be the greatest scorer we've seen since Jordan yet Durant & now Curry have both already surpassed him pretty easily.

The NBA was longing for a Jordan replacement for more than half a decade while Kobe's already a thing of the past in the media/public's eyes despite only retiring last month. It finally hit me just how big of a star Curry is now when ESPN moved Kobe's swangsong game to ESPN2 for the Warriors.

Nope. He was basically a glorified Allen Iverson of sf/sg's

It's really the fate of every player except Jordan, people just move pretty quickly.

I feel bad for the fans of players a minority of people claim to be better than Kobe, yet have less success with better supporting casts than Kobe, in a weaker conference than Kobe.

Life can't be good for people who are foreigners AND Bon Bron fans.....staying up all night to watch him lose on the regular, then still having to wake up in the Philippines and eat cooked rats for breakfast.

I don't feel bad for someone who, in his own mind, underachieved with 5 rings.

He rapes women and has a top 12 resume, and has been known to be a cancer in the last remaining years of his apparent "great" career.

He has a great life, in comparison to any of ours of course, but at the end of day, he is/was a rapist.

I would argue underrated. Players, coaches, and all time greats rank him mid to tail end of top 10. People on this board who weren't even alive to see him wear number 8, or are foreigners who only recently got internet access in their middle eastern mud huts, listen to ESPN ranking.

as great as KD has been, he has zero rings and is 0/1 in the Finals and is averaging a sub-20 PER in his prime in the Playoffs while scoring 27 ppg on 43%FG

Kobe averaged 30/6/6 for 3 straight Finals runs in the Playoffs and his numbers vs Nuggets/Suns are better than what Curry and KD have put up in a Playoff series, also is the only player to put up 600+ points for 3 straight Finals runs..

Curry averaged 28/5/6 on 45,6% shooting with a 24.5 PER last year in the Playoffs, Kobe averaged 30/6/6 with a 25.8 PER for his b2b titles, and mind you that he was significantly older and also had knee/finger injuries and had his knee drained mid-Playoffs.

Meanwhile a healthy Curry last season struggled scoring against Matthew Dellavedova and averaged 26/5/6 on 44% shooting with 4.7 turnovers per game, and had a worse shooting performance than Kobe's 6/24 against Boston with a 5/23 game with 6 turnovers and only 19 points in a loss in a close game at home.

Curry and KD can have better peak regular seasons but until they win more titles and have better championship runs they ain't touching his career, especially considering that they also have more help.

His team lost, but he played better than Kobe in the NBA Finals. He wasn't carried by Gasol, and Shaq in the NBA Finals. LeBron did the carrying for his team.

His teams lost because he refused to or was too dumb to implement a system to help the lesser players on his team.

Lebron got what he deserved.

And sometimes he just sucked too.

What kind of system? His Coaches aren't as good as Phil Jackson. Kobe is a terrible finals performer, but his team won because he had better teammates, and better coach.

Kobe is the dumbest Superstar player in NBA History. He did take plenty of ill advised shots in his NBA Career.

Kobe also did the same thing he fired Del Harris, He fired Rudy Tomjanovich, He fired Mike Brown, Mike D'Antoni, and He fired Byron Scott.

Only Coach he won an NBA title was Phil Jackson because he coached mental cases like Dennis Rodman.

Put a 1996 to 2004 Allen Iverson with the 1996-2004 Lakers. And he was also capable of winning an NBA title as the 2nd scoring option.

But LeBron needed Wade just to get a championship.

At least Bean can say he won a finals without Shaq. Twice. Fact is your boy has two of THE worst finals performances in history (along with THE WORST circa 2011), and has a 2/6 record on the BIG STAGE to show for it.

LeBron is going to win a championship with Irving, Love, and Lue as his NBA Coach. You are an idiot if you think that they aren't going to win an NBA title barring any injuries.

2011> Kobe's performance in the 2000, 2004, and 2008 NBA Finals.

LeBron had one of the WORST drop-offs in history during that finals, and the WORST 4th quarters of any superstar ever on that stage.

2000 (was dude even considered a superstar?), 2004, and 2008 Kobe in the finals > LeBron in 2011. Pretty clearly.

2/7 is coming my friend. Prepare your angus.

Really? A 19 year old bench player firing his coach?

That's a new one Lebron23.

Not going to call it a good try, but still a new one.

He fired Rudy Tomjanovich

Really. He gave Rudy long term side effects from cancer?

Interesting. Or maybe not.

He fired Mike Brown

Yes he did. Thank god. Horrible coach.

Mike D'Antoni

D'Antoni resigned as coach of the Lakers after the team declined to pick up their option.

and He fired Byron Scott.
