Laker fan here. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Duncan. It has been a privilege for me to see both of these players entire careers from start to finish. Both on their team for the entirety of their careers, which is super rare. My feelings don't get hurt when people say Duncan had a better career than Kobe or vice versa. It's hard to gauge individual supremacy head to head for these guys for the obvious reason... they don't play the same position. Having said that, they both have accolades up the wazoo.

Kobe getting it done early and middle of his career, Duncan getting it done early and late in his career. Kobe as 1b to Shaq early and as the man later on, Duncan as the man early on and as 1b..er 1c later on.

Both of these players are well deserving of respect from both fan bases. We had a decade worth of rivalry, for Christ sake. Both these guys are in the top 6-8th best ever. If we lose both Kobe and Duncan in the same season, I think that would be just fitting.

Its not close at all, Duncan is better than Kobe at everyone list except for Kobestans. Duncan is top 10 obviously, Kobe is not top 10.
