pure talent has never been at a high of a level than it is now
it is well known that 2015-2016 has shown us the most advanced and complex defensive schemes in the history of the NBA
and teams are still managing to put up historic eFG% numbers
the current NBA is going through a renaissance period after their dark ages (the expansion 90's)

You're joking right? Defensive schemes are as advanced as ever.
Current Warriors and Spurs are 2 of the greatest defensive teams of all time.
Besides aren't you a 60s fan? Talking about bad defense:roll:

What are you talking about? The 60's were very physical and had great defense. Imagine if Curry had to face that sort of hand-checking on the perimeter.

Hmmm, let's examine this a little bit deeper:
1988 NBA:
ppg: 108
FG: 48%
FT: 77%
eFG: 49%
pace: 100
3PT%: 32%
2016 NBA
ppg: 103
FG: 45%
FT: 76%
eFG: 50%
pace: 96
3PT: 35%
So basically for all the 3 point hoopla of the last few years you find a current league that is SLOWER, with worst overall FG%, lower scoring and basically is percentage point above 1988 in eFG%, a stat that WAS CREATED to validate the over the top 3 point jacking going on today!!! Oh and were not even mentioning the SOFTNESS of the present league thanks to the tinkering of the rules were perimeter players beat their man with one move and basically have a red carpet towards the basket.
That's what happens when true dominant centers and classic true PG's that can set up offenses efficiently both on the half court and the fast break are basically EXTINCT!!! Today's offenses are trying to attack defenses 25+ away from the basket because of the lack of dominant low post players and it's resulting in BAD UNCREATIVE DUMBED DOWN BASKETBALL!!!4
Listen to Hubie Brown, a guy that has FORGOTTEN more about basketball and this entire board knows explain it a little bit further:
