He needs to go back to WWE.

In December 2014, former WWE Champion CM Punk shocked the sports world by signing a multi-fight deal with UFC. Though he has been training with coach Duke Roufus since then, and Mickey Gall has been announced as his first opponent, injuries and other setbacks have repeatedly delayed Punk's debut.
Now, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that according to numerous sources, Punk has not progressed well as a fighter. Rumors coming out of his live sparring sessions indicate that he is performing at a good level, and WON's Dave Meltzer states that it's believed in the industry that Gall will "probably run through" Punk.
Furthermore, it's been telling that UFC seems to have pulled back its emphasis on Punk. Though it was previously announced that Punk would probably make his debut at June 4's UFC 199, Punk underwent surgery for a herniated disc in February, making the date impossible for him to make. Since then, there's been little talk about when Punk will debut, and no further announcements have been made regarding the filming of an FS 1 reality show detailing the buildup to the fight. As Punk will turn 38 on October 26, there is major doubt regarding his shelf life as a fighter. UFC's lack of comment on Punk as of late has led to renewed speculation that he may never actually fight.

Who didn't see this coming? We was never an athletic wrestler, of course he would suck vs pros in real fighting when athleticism actually matters.
CM Punk needs to come back to WWE only so AJ Lee comes back

CM Punk is a great actor, pro wrestler and orator.
He sucks at every wrestling move that requires any athleticism, like the elbow drop from the top rope.
He is a below average athlete. No amount of "heart" and hard work can overcome the athleticism deficiency Punk will have when going against even the very worst UFC fighters.

That's part of the reason why this sideshow is such a joke. He has no REAL amateur wrestling experience, no kickboxing experience, and he's in his mid to late 30s...

Dana is just using his name, and marketability. He should have sign Bobby Lashley who's a decent MMA Fighter, and a former division I Champion.
Jack Swagger would have been a decent MMA Fighter. He Beat Cain Velasquez in College.

Punk is done. Give him one fight and let him retire on his own after getting rocked and KOed in 20 seconds.
He burned the bridge with WWE. I bet he will be in Ring of Honor or Lucha Underground within the next 3 years.

You and I will never understand. Fat grubers who grew up in the 'American Pie-NSYNC' generation saw in Punk a whiney everyman that they could relate to. CM Punk was the hero to Sum 41 and Good Charlotte fans around the world, as well as people who shop at Hot Topic. Yes, a Hot Topic emo version of Stone Cold Steve Austin is the best way to describe CM Punk.
It is comparable to how hipsters rallied around Daniel Bryan a few years ago because he had a hipster beard.

Anyways this should surprise no one, dude wasn't a talented athlete in his prime, let alone at 38 with like 20 years of mileage breaking him down..of course he'd get the shit kicked out of him. And I like Punk but he's the type of guy who desperately needs that, it's been a long time coming.

Punk also got very sloppy as a performer. His GTS was looking weak. Probably because he was hurting guys. Then he tried to do that Elbow Drop like Randy Savage and it pales in comparison.

Punk is a relic of a bygone era. The dude did get sloppy and dangerous towards the end of his WWE career and everyone gave him a free pass. The emo trend was a stain on the 2000s and CM Punk is a dark reflection of it.

lol...at you have to respect.
I respect him for what he did in the wrestling industry and that's about it. His mic skills are very good but his wrestling isn't all that great. At least his moves are not. He's not crisp and clean enough for me. The way he executes his moves comes off as average when we have guys that can look clean and crisp.
He's sloppy and lack intensity. This is my opinion though.
He is not athletic. Can't hit a drop kick. When he's wrestling a bigger guy he can't properly execute his finisher because he's not that strong. I dislike Cena but Cena is a great example of someone that can execute his finisher on anyone. Sometimes it looks horrible against smaller guys because he tosses them so easily.
His gimmick. Straight Edge lifestyle but he doesn't look healthy at all. No Muscles. Appearance is half of the gimmick...you need muscles. He did when he was younger but he totally let himself go.
Fans...his fans hype him to Austin's level and play off the Best In The World gimmick. They tried to make him feud with The Rock and we saw how bright Rock's star was compared to Punk's.
If you browse major message boards....there are discussions about what I mentioned. I'm not the only one.
Lets be objective...I've seen guys that amaze me and he's not one of them. He doesn't need to be flashy with athletic moves. Just clean crisp with good psychology. His wrestling is on the slow side too.
I can go on and on but I will stop here.

I agree
CM Punk always had this sloppiness to the way he performed and moved athletically
It's like a fat dude trying to do a back flip into a swimming pool
But he's got this reputation of being a great technician... Which is whatever. He still looks and moves like an out of shape construction worker
Triple H was right. He never got to that top John Cena level, because he sucked visually and physically. CM Punk did eventually get there for a year or so, but it was because he bitched loud enough and got the crowd in on it..
If only he took the time to get in shape...
Im Still Ballin
05-17-2016, 08:39 AM
And Triple H was also right. He used his out of shape-ness as an excuse. He cried like a social justice warrior: "Flabby dadbods should be maineventers too! What's with the bodybuilder, muscle and size obsession!"
Oh, I don't know... Maybe it has something to do with Wrestling? Size matters. It transcends just about every physical aspect/sport. Wrestling is all about the act. Selling it to the crowd. Who will they believe more... A dadbod, or a Jackedbod?
CM Punk can take his ninja skills that overpower size back into his head, because guess what; Size matters in MMA too.

I dislike Cena but if you watch this match against sorry ass Cena, you will see that Cena is clearly the star and Punk is a jobber. Also, Cena executes his move very clean and with some nice chain moves.
Punk also did a bunch of weird ass moves. Like doing a splash with his ass.

CM Punk wonders why he wasn't on that top shelf
The answer is clear as day
All you need to do is take one look at him and you know why
Compare that to Angle, or Lesnar, or The Rock
You only need to take one look at them and you know why they are the best
And this is why no one will ever be on Lesnar's level
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEV5mz68yrc
These things matter. The most important fans have always been the majority
Not the IWC
They don't understand
It's all about selling the act
The look is so important
