Let's play a game...

Which part of this statement is NOT true?

"They are young black men, likely teens or in their early 20s," Bell wrote. "They have multiple siblings from multiple fathers and their mothers work multiple jobs. These boys have been in the system before. They've grown up there. They know the police. They've been arrested. They've made the circuit and nothing has scared them enough. Now they are lost. Once you kill a neighbor's three children, two nieces and her unborn grandson, there's no coming back. There's nothing nice to say about that."

Bell's 18-year tenure at the station ended today and the ABC affiliate issued a statement of its own: "WTAE has ended its relationship with anchor Wendy Bell. Wendy's recent comments on a WTAE Facebook page were inconsistent with the company's ethics and journalistic standards."

It's better, in the eyes of society, to ignore the problem and pretend like it's not happening then it is to actually speak about the problem and hurt someone's feelings. (Immigration issues sound familiar?).

What's even more ironic is that this person was fired for saying the same thing Obama said in June of 2008...

[QUOTE]Obama Calls for More Responsibility From Black Fathers

Mr. Obama noted that

There's really nothing wrong with saying any of that. Even if you don't agree, since when aren't people allowed to have their own opinions about things?

Apparently watching Boyz-n-da-hood and drawing general conclusions from it is raciss now :lol

Look at this bastard:

She's allowed to have a personal opinion, but she messed up by posting her opinion on her employers official Facebook page.

I'm not debating the story. It's old news and already talked about when it was relevant, weeks and weeks ago :hammerhead:

You are the worst thread creator on ISH- by a wide margin.

At least when NickYoung or 9er seeks to create a thread with an agenda, it's a current dally topic. You seek out race-bait stories and they are often passe and buried in America's news pile for weeks by the time you want to discuss them, it's embarrassing :banghead:

Alway posting old stories with the same tired narrative you want to discuss, barely ever posting links, mannn you're ISH's number one fckboy when it comes to topics :facepalm

True, but that's not why she was fired...

Wendy's recent comments on a WTAE Facebook page were inconsistent with the company's ethics and journalistic standards.

Apparently those ethics and standards align with refusing to mention reality.
