He was flamed pretty hard for it.

Do you guys believe it was innocent?

I'm a fan but I'm just waiting for the day that he posterizes green's smug ass

Yep, you could take it as a compliment actually when you refer to the guards. Obviously. guards are generally somewhat little compared to the bigs, so I think I can see why he said it in that form.

I see nothing wrong with his comment, it's just people being overly sensitive, it's f*cking disgusting. Soft.

What did Steph & Klay have to say about it?

ok, so it's mainly because of who is saying it, not so much the word itself?

This is what I posted in the NBA thread...

Not a big deal to me. Was it a poor choice of words? Sure. He was just being interviewed and he said the first thing that popped in his mind to describe how quick they are to get around screens and stuff. It's the society's perception that allows themselves to be offended by things like this. Which is why we will never get past racism in human society. It's always going to be there because in this example this man was describing the great play of two players of slight color and he said monkeys and everyone loses their f*cking minds. It's not like he went out there and said "Well, Klay and Steph were running around out there like they were chasing BBQ Chicken with a side of Grape Kool-Aid."

I give him the benefit of the doubt.

He's a kiwi and Americans get too offended over petty BS like this. The monkey reference had nothing to do with their skin. Certain words don't mean the same everywhere.

There was a pause before he said the word monkeys. Many would conclude that he was calculated in what he said.

I honestly don't know, but isn't he part Maori? Doesn't this seem a bit trivial since he is part black?

There are different cultural norms throughout the world.

Move along now this isn't a real controversey.

He was asked to apologise for it.

I've seen numerous media sources all over it, but no one really calling him out as a racist, except that the journalists pointing out that it has racist connotations...

But still, it's interesting how PC sensitive the world is now. The media literally jump on everything.

That word means the same everywhere, but it was just a slip of the tongue.

You can use it more freely in New Zealand/Australia without any racist stigma attached to it.

Depends what you are after? What are you looking for?

I will say, Australian girls can be pretty picky with their men if you are looking at heading out to the clubs.

Being short and Phillipino is behind the game already, you gonna need to show your personality and confidence or you'll be the drunk still drinking til 5am lockout(3am in NSW).

Another thing, don't worry about being too drunk, girls are sluts over here.

Not in relation to black people.
So in other words, the same as USA.
