If Kobe were to become a coach he would obviously become the GOAT, just like he did as a player. His basketball IQ and intelligence and overall feel for the game of basketball are just off the charts. I could see him winning 10 championships easily, even with just mediocre players on his team.
So this is why he doesnt want to become a coach. Kobe knows that if he were to become a coach, Phil Jackson would move one spot down the greatest coaches of all time list and his legacy would be tarnished. Kobe is too loyal of a man to do that to someone he once considered his mentor.
