The cowardly colluding absolutely ruined the east.
How the hell does the NBA block the Paul trade, yet allow this BS to happen?
No conference finals should ever be this meaningless, this predictable, this cowardly, and this pathetic. It just shouldn't happen.
This sure as hell isn't an accomplishment for Bran or the city of CLeaveland.
This cowardly ass colluding has ruined an entire conference for 6 straight seasons.

but it's as plain to see that it's the Eastern Conference which has the problem, not the Western

You have wonder if he would have said "I'm good", if the Warriors had not added a TON of talent to the 25-55 team that he carried in his rookie season.
Let's get real here...the Warriors are a 60+ win team without him, and in fact, have played considerably better in the post-season without him.

Nobody has this argument when your team is the one who not only is good, but is playing on all cylinders. Because the media does rely on LBJ so much, it's never about how good he is, how well we are playing, how hard we work defensively, how motivated we are, etc.; it's always about the other team sucking.

You can't handle the truth.
And the truth is...this shit is meaningless because of the cowardly colluding.
Absolutely meaningless.
All time scoring in Playoffs:
Jordan
Jabaar
Bryant
O'Neal
James
All time assists in playoffs:
Johnson
Stockton
Kidd
James
One name on both lists. It's called greatness, and people want to play with greatness. They flock to greatness and they play hard for greatness. They are not afraid to dominate and step on people's necks for greatness. Players go beyond their ability for greatness.
It's not collusion. It's greatness.

You guys have no argument here to be won. So you jump other to other shit like talking trash about other fanbases, and various other BS to deflect because deep down you know this is truth.
Face is dudes the proof is right here. Toronto being in the ECF is hilarious. The CAVS are that caliber of team but they've cake walked two years in a row. Even the Heat with Bron had more competition than this shit
it's their 1st year contending so it's not surprising they're choking in the playoffs. They've been lucky enough to get easy opponents who've been injured however so they've managed to win(kind of like gs last year vs the cavs). This shit happens way more often than people think. Good teams in regular season play bad in the playoffs or a series because it's their 1st year contending. OKC in 2011 got beat 4-1 by the Mavs, Suns got beat 4-1 by the spurs in 05 even though they had their best core, Pistons got swept by the Nets in 03 etc.

That's just how the NBA is. It's always been like this. You have like 3-4 teams that compete for a title and everyone else competes to see how far they get until they lose to one of those 4 teams. The NBA can be really hard to get into unless you are a fan of one of those teams. I applaud fans who stick with the bad teams every year. Even if your bad team ever gets good they will probably still be a first or second round exit to a stacked team. The NBA has always been top heavy. It was fun being one of those teams for a couple of years though. The NBA doesn't care about parity. They make too much money off super stars and stacked teams dominating. People tune in to watch them lose.

It's not a lie at all. The NBA has always had teams like this. I mean yah the East may be the weakest it's ever been, but you have two franchises alone that have more titles than everybody combined. The NBA has always had stacked teams and super stars who dominate.

technically speaking the biggest dropoff would be in the 01 West. When you beat the 2nd best team in the conference by an average of 20 points in a series that's a huge dropoff.

No. There was time when almost every team had one legit superstar surrounded by role players. Only super team in recent history before all the collusions was the big 3 celtics.

The point is the league has always been dominated by super stars and stacked teams. I don't necessarily mean every team had a big 3 of super stars in their primes like the Cavs. There's always going to be good teams and good series, but there's always going to be a couple of teams above everyone else in the league.

3 of the 4 games against the Kings were determined by 6 points or less.
And don't ever compare the cowardly colluding in a far weaker conference by the Cavs to the Lakers organically turning into a great team. (No one had any idea Kobe would blow up like he did)

Yao getting injured is part of the game just like the Lakers having injuries as well.

The teams outside of those 3-4 are weak in BOTH conferences.
Normally it was just the east but the 2nd tier teams in the west were weak too this season.
I think this is one of the worst years (in terms of number of good teams) in a long time. I'm not hating but I'm starting to think the Warriors and Spurs records were inflated a little.
I've never been this disinterested watching the playoffs, luckily we still have OKC battling these great teams.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely agree with you. This was one of the worst seasons in a long time. It's not fun to me seeing a team win 73 games, another team get to nearly 70, and another team win a conference without breaking a sweat. This may be the most unwatchable season in NBA history or it's at least up there. Literally nobody had chance outside of 3 teams with maybe OKC and a healthy Clippers team putting up a fight.

clippers getting injured kind of ruined things this year. If you have 4 great teams in a conference, the last 2 rounds of the playoffs can still be pretty exciting but not the case with 3. Lots of teams that looked good on paper disappointed this year too; specifically Houston, Memphis, and Chicago. It'll get better next year; Warriors won't win 70+ and Spurs won't 65+ and there'll be more parity.

You have to be a decent enough team to make a conference final.
I never said this is one of the best ever, or that the Raptors were some all time great team. They are pretty standard as far as conference finals teams go. A 56 win team, that was quite capable and looked very good throughout the season.
This years playoffs has been one of the worst ever in terms of excitement. From both sides IMO.
The West is having its first good series now, and the East won't have one at all this year. The finals will be the only thing worth watching outside of the Dubs vs OKC.
My point is, people need to stop bitching about LeBron and his lack of competition. This isn't close to being the worst competition ever. Not close. Early 2000's was far worse. Then you have Magic Johsnon who was beating 39 win teams in the conference finals at one point, etc.
It is just a shitty year as far as playoffs go. You can either watch, or not. No point complaining about it, since there is literally no fix for it.

I'm a horrible poster, yet idiots like you and OP are the ones constantly moving goal posts.
First it was all about records. Now it is all up to OP's and your discretion as to how good a team really is. People won't be satisfied unless LeBron loses to one of these teams. :oldlol:
LA crushed those teams 3-0 and 4-0 in 2001. How good could they really be if they can't take a game off them? That is the idiotic logic we're dealing with now for Bron... So, why can't the same logic be applied to those teams?
I'm sure the goal posts will be moved once again.
Anyways, not sure why I'm posting so much on the topic, since I don't care. I'll watch the finals and enjoy them either way, regardless of who makes it. The playoffs have been shit so far.

The Raptors won one more game than the Thunder. I don't think they're a better team than OKC, but they are a good one.
If Bron was playing OKC now in the conference finals, people would be saying that he regularly shits on Durant and its another easy finals for him.
Some of you just need to watch basketball and enjoy it for what it is. Bron will never be good enough for some of you, and that is fine. We don't give a f*ck enough to have you comment on it every series. stalkerforlife is literally that. A Lebron stalker. Every damn game there is a thread about how stacked the Cavs are. True but that doesn't change the fact that the Raptors were good during the regular season. There's pretty simple explanation for the Raptors playing poorly in the playoffs and it has nothing to do with the East. This is their 1st year of "contending" and the lack of experience is hurting them, it's happened to a lot of better teams too besides the Raptors in the past.
JimmyMcAdocious
05-18-2016, 01:48 AM
Doesn't help that barely anyone thinks of the Raptors as a true rising team. Mostly due to the fact that Derozan and Lowry aren't considered actual franchise players by many. Then there's this prevailing opinion that stars win you championships in the NBA. ie, you aren't an actual contender without a star. Which, btw, has been proven mostly true.
It's a bit different than OKC a while back with Durant, Westbrook, and maybe Harden looking like they might take the reins with experience. The Raptors are akin to maybe the Grizzlies a few years ago or the Nets after they got JKidd (although they at least had Kidd and, years later, Vince). Yeah they will win 50+ games with this core in the current state of the league. And... No one buys them as anything more than a second round-ish team.
Maybe they're the Pistons pre-Sheed or the Warriors before Steph went from good to ATG. I don't know. But either way they're still missing their Sheed, or this core is at their actual deceptively high ceiling because of the lack of talent in the conference this season.
Also agree about the West. Outside of Golden State, San Antonio, OKC, and maybe the Clippers, there's a significantly large gap. I mean there's always a bit of separation between contenders and just playoff teams. That's why one is a contender. It's that there's a bit more significant gap this season than years past. Look at the Mavs roster and that was a 6th seed...
Basically these super teams (bought and built) make for a fun Finals and possibly CF if they aren't all on one conference. But it's ****ing up the rest of the NBA.
