View Full Version : Why weren't the Big 3 Heat this dominant?

It was an eyesore watching them and they always seemed to struggle in the postseason. This current Cavs team on the other hand are must-see television.

They were pretty dominant in 2011 against actual legit competition. But 2012 Bosh was injured, and 2013 Wade/Bosh played really poorly through the East playoffs

There is nothing watchable about the cavs and the competition they face. Its a disgrace.

They didn't have Kyrie leading them in scoring

The competition was actually a little bit better.... the celtics. The pacers. The bulls etc. Now there is literally no one.

You already forgot Boston was much better than the Raptors etc?
And that Chicago still had Thibs with a decent team?

Maybe because the Big 3 Celtics, Thibs lead Bulls, and the Pacers were far tougher competition. This may be the worst the East has ever been.

Wade and Bosh struggling/getting injured at the wrong times. Plus there was better competition. The east in 2011 and 2012 arguably wasn't even weak.

A) Competition

B) Wade was never a good match for Lebron. Both can't shoot.

as sad as it is, the current crop make those pacer and bulls teams look like the 96 Bulls and 86 Celtics.

lmao get a load of this bullshit

there's no high stakes or must-see factor for the Cavs because they're an afterthought in this league. If Lebron goes 2/7 honestly ISH are the only people who are going to give a shit, because at this point the greater story in the league is what the Warriors are doing with Curry leading them. The Cavs don't have a target on their back, they don't have any great rivals or emotional pivotal moments that define their team. I barely remember who they even played up until the finals last year. They're simply not that compelling or interesting.

and they struggled against the freakin' Nets in 2014, as well... only in 2012 DOMINANT. But, yeah, maybe they would have been in 2012 as well with Bosh.

Wade can't shoot like Kyrie can.

LeBron-Irving-Love are a better fit than LeBron-Wade-Bosh.

And the Cavs' role players are also better.

Big three had injuries

Unbalanced rosters

This Cavs squad is more well rounded with quality players at every position

Heat always had that hole up front

They found their niche though... Ran with Bosh at center and had a hell of a run

They did win 27 in a row in 2013. Their struggles were mainly due to injuries in the playoffs, lack of depth, and a lack of size up front.

4 straight finals appearances, 2 straight championships, 27 game win streak. Certainly a lot more dominant than what loser city has "accomplished" with Lebron.

Insidehoops: the competition is only legit if you lose.

I've been wondering this myself. The heat never looked this good in the playoffs

Wade can't shoot, and Bosh was terrible in playoffs. Thank God for LeBron

2012 and 2013 Heat = 2016 Cavaliers > 2016 OKC Thunder >> 2016 GS Warriors >>> 2016 San Antonio Spurs.

Not that hard to figure out, the cavs bench is way better than anything Miami had on their bench.

The "they played tougher opponents" sounds nice in theory but I'm not buying it. This current Cavs team offensive efficiency is 117.4 which smashes even the 73 win Golden State Warriors (111.7). Toronto & Atlanta are both very good defensive teams in the same caliber as the PG/Hibbert/Granger/Stephenson/West Pacers, Big 3 Celtics & Thibs Bulls yet they've taken them apart with relative ease.

The Big 3 Heat always seemed like it was a "your turn, my turn" while this Cavs offense looks like an unstoppable juggernaut. I haven't seen a LeBron James led team ever move or shoot the ball this well.

2011 they were dominant until Lebron went AWOL in the finals. Beat good Celtics and Bulls teams in 5.

2012 Bosh was injured and missed a good chunk of the playoffs (Miami's only decent big really, that leaves a huge deficit to make up), and Wade was slightly hobbled.

2013 Wade's knees were f*cked by the time the playoffs rolled around. Won 27 straight in the regular season.

ATL were second in defensive efficiency this season behind an all time great defense. The Raptors just reached a Conference Finals off the back of their stifling defense despite the Brick Bros best efforts.
