View Full Version : Cavaliers. Nothing learned. Nothing gained.

Who here last September thought the Cleveland Cavaliers would not make the NBA Finals?

What has happened in the Eastern Conference playoffs thus far is expected. Nothing learned, nothing gained. It's like benching the same weight in the gym for a month. Unless your making gains your still that weak motherphucker from a month ago that the powerlifters look down on.

LeBron is 2 for 6 when it counts.

The team to beat is still the 73 win MVP-led team out West.

A storm is coming...

2 for 7.

I know one thing, the refs will be doing everything in their power to give Lebron a fairytale narrative here.

I could see the Cavs winning on the back of some really bad calls.

This is what everybody wants to make themselves believe. Let's not pretend that the Cavs are not a threat to win it all.

I think they can give the Warriors a run for their money if healthy.

Still Warriors in 7

They're not really a threat with Kyrie's and Love's absence on defense.
Defense last year won them two games, they're not gonna be better on that end this year. At best they take one game at home, that's that.

You say all that, yet pick Golden State to win the series.

Cavs were heavily favored to come out of the Eastern Conference again before the season even started. Only "threat" they had was a healthy Miami squad, unfortunately Miami lost their two best players to health issues.

Warriors are better at every single position except for SF.

Better front court, better guards, deeper bench, better coach, home court advantage. Cavs aren't going to get blown out but let's not act like anything's changed since last year. We all knew a healthy Cavs squad would have a better chance but they are still a worse team.

Right dude Cavs are rolling confident playing great team ball and are more talented than GS. Cavs won 2 last year cause of lebron and grittiness but ran out of steam and talent being short handed. Your adding 40+ ppg with love and Irving and adding depth to 2nd unit with RJ and Fyre. That is over 50ppg they did not have available last year in finals. Now you let delly and TT play normal role where they are not asked to do too much offensively but contribute in flow of game and than guys like JR smith goes back to being 4th option instead of 2nd option where he is capable of exploding any night but it's not as much of a necessity more a bonus now. Strongly disagree let's say lebron Irving love vs curry klay and dray is a wash than u have smith delly shump TT Fyre RJ vs Livingston Barnes IGGY Barbosa and bogut Cavs have an advantage there with better PG best rebounder and more shooters.

Warriors are going to have an easier time scoring with Love and Irving on the floor

Cavs won 1 of those games thanks to Curry going 5/23 with 6 turnovers in a OT loss

Curry, Thompson and Green are BETTER than they were last year

Cavs are having fun destroying weak EC teams with their small ball line-ups but good luck defending Golden State with Irving, Love and Frye being on the floor at the same time :oldlol:

That's not how basketball works.

Frye and RJ are going to struggle on defense, Livingston will have his way with Delly like he did last year, Iggy is better than anyone Cavs have off their bench.

Well Fyre won't be on court with love first off it will be with TT or love will play Center and Cavs will have delly or shump on court with smith Irving lebron playing 4 spot. Lebron with more shooters and his versatility is deadly. I am pretty confident Cavs are gonna win it if ther remain healthy.

Why would Fyre and RJ struggle on D ? They are not gonna be covering warriors big 3.. Livingston will be guarded by shump and delly will take care of Barbosa when not on curry. Shump and Smith will guard Klay and Barnes along with lebron at times when he is not on IGGY or green.

Because Warriors will throw in a few screens and all of a sudden you have Frye or RJ switched onto Curry :oldlol:, good luck defending that.

Just watch the Warriors - OKC series, you'll see countless screens where Adams/Ibaka will end up defending a Curry drive. You can't sag off him and try to lock down the paint because he'll make the open shot 9 out of 10 times, you're too slow to stop him from getting to the rim without a foul.

I don;t see how people can watch the last two months and not realise that the Cavs have vastly improved. Their ability to block out distractions and not play down to the moment is pretty special right now. Curry and Dem should still be favs seeing as they are the defending champs and coming off 73 wins but let's not ignore that the Warriors aren't in top form yet and let's also stop downplaying the Cavs chances when GSW might not even make the finals.
