looked exactly the same in college.
Basicaly just guys that barreled their way to the rim against less than NBAesque athletes at the collegiate ranks where they relied purely on size. can rebound against these athletes too.
Tweeners
Can't shoot threes
terrible attitude.
It's the same guy. I will be getting a laugh at whoever drafts him.

Why do you think Simmons has a bad attitude?

lol what
yeah both averaged 12 rebounds in college but Beasley could shoot the ball, Simmons is a different player man..he runs the offense and handles the ball while Beasley was just a volume scorer.
And where does the "terrible attitude" come from for Simmons? I'd love to know.
And I guess 6-9 240 is a tweener LOL, Beasley was 6-7..

I think there was some articles that suggest he didn't try hard enough and coasted to often during games rather than willing his team to win some more games to qualify for the tourney? :confusedshrug:

That's considered terrible attitude? Nothing on his work ethic and 0 off-court troubles?
How does that compare to Beasley, who did try hard at taking games over in College, averaging 26 ppg, but had off-court troubles with smoking weed and him being involved in a sexual assault case? :oldlol:
I don't want the Lakers to draft Simmons because he can't shoot the ball but he's nothing like Beasley as a player... I don't see it.

Playing for LSU, and trying to force his way to LA to get a better shoe deal doesnt scream someone who cares about winning

Actually forcing your way to LA is exactly what screams caring about winning. At one point or another, LA will be good again. Can't say that about any other team in the league. LA is the basketball standard. They spend and spend until they are good enough.
Gee whiz, lets hate on a kid for wanting the most money he can get in terms of money. What an idiot, right? Who would want the most money they can get at work? :facepalm

what would the league look like if all the best players refused to play for any other team than the Warriors or Spurs?
Simmons is a bitch and does not seem like a hard worker. He knows this and wants to cash in as quickly as possible

So now you're just assuming shit?
You have no idea if he is the hardest worker or the least hardest worker.
Kobe forced his way to LA and he wasn't anywhere close to the prospect at the time that Simmons is.
Why don't those other guys force their way to whatever team they want? Because they clearly aren't as good or highly touted. What kind of questions are you asking? Seriously...

forcing is a strong word to use in this case man
teams are the ones investing their money in these players' potential, if Kobe didn't impress West he would have been forced to take whatever team was willing to draft him
Simmons is the highest rated prospect on the board, Kobe was coming out of HS and wasn't even a top 10 pick.

Ben Simmons = Boris Diaw.
Simmons shooting is a legit problem, and I have concerns about his takeover mentality, the same way I did about Wiggins.
But Simmons' vision and ball handling combined with that size and athleticism makes him a totally different thing. As much as people, rightfully, recognize the importance and focus on shooting in this era, where zones are cutting off the hoop more than they used to, there is also a bigger focus on the secondary playmaker, especially along the front line. Because for the ball to move around and exploit that weakside, you need someone who can catch it, handle it, and pass it, and Simmons does all that exceptionally, while rebounding like a PF.
There have been some Draymond Green comps, but that doesn't make sense until he turns himself into a shooter like that. The Super Athletic Diaw comparison is something I've liked for a while now. And the best thing about him is that there's an opportunity for a much higher ceiling, while I think that Diaw gig is his floor. I think there's some Lamar Odom in there too. Maybe not quite the ball handling, but picks up a bit on the rebounding end. But that size and ball movement thing is there, and there's a certain, fit-in-ability (patent pending), that makes me feel like Simmons is a guy who can fit on good teams in different roles.
Beasley had one chance, to be a dominant mismatch scorer, and if it didn't work, there wasn't a lot to fall back on.
I've also been of the opinion that I would take Simmons in most scenarios first, however, Philly is one of the really few situations where I think where Ingram makes more sense. The shooting is a real advantage Ingram has, and Philly need shooting in a bad way. And because of the plethora of more traditional bigs they have, including perhaps two real traditional post bigs in Okafore and maybe Embiid, there won't be the space for Simmons to really flourish the way I think he can on a roster where he can be an attack PF that catches the ball at the top of the key and gets to attack the hoop and make decisions.
If the Lakers don't like him because he can't shoot, as a Celtic fan, I'm more than happy to take him third.

Beasley had a jump shot. Simmons doesn't. Poor man's Billy Owens.

Beasley's problem was that he was soft and couldn't dribble with both hands.
Simmons has a significantly better handle than Beasley

Realistically, Simmons is the best prospect but Ingram is a better fit for both teams. Although both teams should automatically draft Simmons because of his star potential. Nice try CELTICS FAN!!!

Its not him who is forcing, its his team and manager. Get ur fact straight.
He's just a kid wwho's listening to his mom and some hardcore managers.

Haven't read through the through but they literally have no similarities as players...except that they're both tall and athletic.
Beasley was an offensive monster who could do it in a lot of ways. Simmons is a fast break monster who facilitates.
Both didn't play very good D so I guess you have that.
