https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NBA_All-Star_vote_leaders

Candidates:

Vince Carter 4x leading All-Star vote leader
Kobe Bryant 4x leading All-Star vote leader
Lebron James 3x leading All-Star vote leader

other candidates that never lead league in All-Star voting would be like Shaq & Iverson.

Also crazy to think Dwight Howard lead the league 2x in votes, although at Center it was way easier to get a high %. Vince at 4x during the days of Duncan/KG/Kobe/Shaq/Iverson etc etc. just seems unreal, especially because he's at the guard position.

Okay, it's obviously Kobe, maybe I should've asked "players".

For me, past 15 years combined:

1. Kobe Bryant
2. LeBron James
3. Shaq O'Neal
4. Kevin Garnett
5. Tim Duncan?? Yao Ming?? Maybe Wade?

Peak popularity

1. Kobe Bryant
2. LeBron James
3. Vince Carter
4. Allen Iverson
5. Shaq/Curry

EVERYBODY knows LeBron.

I asked some Korean workers at Boeing the other day about NBA players. They weren't fans of basketball at all. I asked if they knew Jordan, they all said yes. I asked if they knew Shaq, one said yes, the rest no. I asked if they knew Kobe, they all said no. I asked if they knew LeBron, they all said yes. I asked if they knew Durant or Curry, they all said no to both.

There were 6 or 7 guys in the group. But it's very telling that all said yes to knowing who LeBron and Jordan were, but mostly no to everyone else. Just based off media coverage, shoe sales, and common sense, I say LeBron and Jordan are the two most popular NBA players of all time.

Kobe and Shaq are probably the top 2. Iverson was up there as well in the early 2000's.

I hate Kobe, but its obviously him. Millions of Chinese loners wanted his nuts in their mouth. Also a lot of newbies and fakers didnt get to experience NBA jordan vs Magic they just hopped on the Kobe Shaq bandwagon.

Here in Brasil, it's Kobe by a mile. I don't think non basketball fans know any player but between the basketball fans, I feel like Kobe is the most liked.

Curry seems to be gaining a lot of fans lately as well. Specially because a new channel (the most popular sports channel in Brasil) is broadcasting NBA the last 2 seasons and Curry obviously hit his peak last 2 seasons.
