He's was 34 years old and without 2 max big men? He actually won a playoff game with a 6'7 rookie SG/SF as his starting center. Led the Heat in total points, assists, rebounds, blocks, 3pt%, and was 2nd in steals. I'd say he did his part.

So having a star in Dragic, and having Whiteside for half the series wasn't enough? :confusedshrug:

CBS Sports called him out: http://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/heats-dwyane-wade-quiet-in-game-7-loss/

Very quiet indeed. Seems like Wade doesn't have the killer instinct to finish. That's why he's been so miserable in late-game situations since 2010

That Game 7 performance was pathetic, its a shame ESPN hid that from the headlines.

I always knew the myth that Wade was a 'big game performer' was nothing but a lie to prop up his legacy.

Dude flat out quit on his team. :facepalm

You guys are idiots.

First of all, Whiteside only played in 2 1/2 games and the Heat were already thin up front. The "star" Dragic had a 15 PER in the playoffs.

Wade carried the Heat for the entire playoffs. He's the only reason there even was a game 7. If a 34 year old SG is leading your team in nearly every statistical category, including blocks and rebounds, your team is seriously flawed (or shorthanded). Wade is just the second 34 year old SG in the last 40 years to lead his team to playoff series win.

As a lifelong Wade fan this post deeply hurts me, because every single word of it is 100% truth. :(

Why was Wade struggling to beat a Raptors team that LeBron is on the verge of sweeping with his eyes closed? :confusedshrug:

Their supporting casts in the playoffs are about the same btw...

Dragic dropped 30 in game 6 to force game 7. :oldlol:

Wade slurpers revising history not even a month removed from Wade's choke! That's sad!

Dragic "forced" a game 7? :oldlol:

Wade's 4th quarter is what forced a game 7. Regardless, look at the numbers. Wade did EVERYTHING in that series. At 34 YEARS OLD he was his team's top scorer, playmaker, rebounder, shot blocker, and clutch performer. Through he first 2 rounds he was the leading clutch scorer in the entire playoffs.

Please humor me and name the other 34 year old SG's to do what Wade did in these playoffs. Go ahead, I'll be waiting. You can't, because Wade is the oldest player EVER to lead his team in total points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and 3 pt% in a playoff series.

Even if it was prime Wade it would be impressive, much less a 34 year old Wade.

:biggums:

Lebron isn't even the leading scorer for his team. :oldlol:

He has a pair of teammates averaging 25/5 and 18/11 respectively in the playoffs. Even JR Smith is averaging 12 ppg on 67%TS.

If the Heat had Tristan Thompson they beat Toronto, much less Irving or Love. Replace Lebron with Wade and the Cavs still cruise to the finals. They wouldn't have a chance to win in the finals like they currently do, but they'd still get there.

Lol wade played like an all star in the playoffs for the first time since 2012, and everyone was shocked. Wade stans don't realize that it was an insult with all the praise he was getting, and all the praise they were giving him. It was unexpected. It was surprising since his body usually breaks down when the playoffs roll around.

And all those wade stans that downplayed the importance of whiteside. LOL.

This is patently false. The only time you could argue his body broke down was in the 2014 finals. He was very good in the first 3 rounds including 20/5/4/2 on 55% in the ECF. I wouldn't classify his bone bruise injury in 2013 as "his body breaking down". It was a freak occurrence, not a wear and tear thing (much like the shoulder injury in 2007). It's unfortunate because he was playing great that season and would have beasted in the playoffs.

As for this season, of course it was somewhat unexpected since only Jordan has played at that level at the same age. You just don't expect a 34 year old SG to put a team on his back the way Wade did in these playoffs. I'm not sure what you're talking about in terms of people downplaying Whiteside's importance. Being shorthanded already without Bosh, everyone knew how important Whiteside was. The Heat had no size. It's amazing they managed to win 2 games with basically zero frontcourt. Like I said before, give the Heat Tristan Thompson and they win that series.

I'm a wade stan so ill break it down for you guys and end this. The Raptors are a great team.. they exposed wade, a fringe top 40 player of all time. Carrol and derozan locked him up when they finally decided to try really hard in that pivotal game 7.

I'm a Wade hater so ill break it down for you guys and end this. The Raptors are a mediocre team.. they triple-teamed Wade, a top 20 player of all time, who at 34 years old still managed to have a historically good series, leading his team in nearly every statistical category. The entire Raptors team focused 100% on slowing him down in that pivotal game 7 when they realized everyone else on the Heat was garbage and they were starting a 6'7 rookie at center.

Agreed.

JJ shot 41% in the series and a blistering 13% from 3. At one point he was 0/20 from beyond the arc.

Deng ripped the nets to the tune of 36% from the field and 22% from 3. He also averaged just 5 rebounds per game.

Winslow averaged 8/5/1 on 44%.

Dragic was decent at 19/5/3 on 53%TS, but he was thoroughly outplayed by Lowry. In contrast, Wade was better than Derozan across the board.

To reiterate, that supporting cast was so good that 34 year old Wade led his team in points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and 3pt%, a feat that no player his age in NBA history has ever accomplished in a playoff series.
