35 finals games:
33.6 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 6.0 APG, 1.8 SPG
179 playoff games:
33.4 PPG, 28.6 PER, 6.4 RPG, 5.7 APG, 2.1 SPG (PPG and PER highest ever for playoffs)
Ladies and gentleman, this is what the resume of the GOAT looks like. No piggy backing off another star to win. Was without a doubt "the man" every single year he made the playoffs, carrying a huge burden on his back and still coming through when it mattered most. KAJ, Magic, Shaq, Wilt, Russell and Kobe amongst others can't make that claim. They won as 2nd fiddle at some point, not MJ.
Won 2 finals when he didn't have HCA (1993 and 1998). Never lost when he had HCA and won 7 times when he didn't have HCA. Scored 45 points in his last meaningful game as a Bull to close out the Jazz at the age of 35.
And I didn't even talk about the regular season. Playoffs is what it's all about.

Jordan's record in the playoffs in his 1st 3 playoff series. Pretty much irrelevant but used as a response to the 2/7 crowd.

Time to put this 1-9 thing to bed:
1984-85 Bulls (38-44) faced (59-23) Bucks and lost (1-3). Win differential (21 games). Bucks of the mid 80's were a very good team.
1985-86 Bulls (30-52) faced (67-15) Celtics and lost (0-3). Win differential (37 games). This Celtics team is widely regarded as the GOAT team ever.
1986-87 Bulls (40-42) faced (59-23) Celtics and lost (0-3). Win differential (29 games). This Celtics team made the finals.
MJ's numbers during these 10 playoff games:
35.5 PPG, 27.4 PER 6.3 RPG, 6.9 APG, 2.4 SPG, 1.5 BPG
How can anyone in their right mind expect a rookie, 2nd and 3rd year MJ with utterly no help to beat an elite team (Bucks) and a GOAT level team (Celtics)? And yes, I can openly admit that early years MJ didn't exactly play championship level ball (taking what the D gives you and getting others involved). But even if he had played perfect, team ball, it still wouldn't have mattered because of the HUGE gap in talent between his team and the teams he faced were way too large.

Basically MJ was a statpadder in his first 3 years, and could barely get his team to 40 wins without Pippen.
While guys like KAJ, Bird, Wilt, Russell, Magic, Duncan and Shaq had positive impacts since day one.
Sure guys like Kobe and LeBron didn't have as much impact as the guys mentioned above in terms of day one impact, but they were 18 year old rookies out of high school. By the time they were 22, Kobe was dropping 30/5/5 on WC teams winning titles while Lebron single handedly dragged his shitty team to the finals.
Not to mention guys like Wilt and Russell had to go up against EACH OTHER in the playoffs. Same as Magic and Bird, or Duncan and Shaq.
Could you imagine Wilt's resume had Russell not existed? What about KAJ/Magic's resume if Bird didn't exist? Duncan would have more rings he not had to play Shaq in the playoffs, and the same could be said for Shaq.
Tell me, which top 10 player did MJ beat in the playoffs?

well the counterargument for that(not 87) which is a meh one but true is if Jordan played more optimally, the Bulls would've gotten better seeding and a better playoff matchup. I'll say this small criticism, when MJ was on a true contender he only had to deal with one super elite team, the Bad Boys and that was for a year or two.. All the other guys you listed dealt with more. KaJ with the West/Wilt Lakers, both him and Magic with the Dr.J/Moses Sixers and Celtics, Bird with Showtime(Edit: and Sixers), Wilt with the Russell Celtics, Russell with the West/Baylor./Wilt lakers and wilt's sixers, Kobe with the 08 Celtics and Spurs etc.

A lot of greats can put up great numbers in the regular season. It's what you do in the playoffs where greats should ultimately be judged. Playoffs is a different animal. Much more intense, much more physicality and the bright lights on "the man". Some guys just can't perform under those circumstances. The burden is too much.

OP didn't know that Gary Payton only guarded Jordan in the last 3 games of the 96 finals and not the first 3. If you're going to try and learn anything about the game, or Michael Jordan, don't let it be from him.
