Don't even give me the competition thing, MANY better centers out there....
1st-Team All-Defense AND 1st-Team All-NBA is just too much..

I actually expected it. Drummond's ft shooting is too poor and they weren't going give it to Whiteside who had some issues during the season. Cousins team record is too bad. Here's how the media sees it, Deandre is the 2nd best player on a top 4 team in the West.
Edit: Paul Millsap might've gotten snubbed even though I can't be mad at george or aldridge over him. No one else really stands out besides maybe Harden.

Worst All-NBA first team selection of all time. He probably used the extra money he got from the Clippers to pay the voters.

What C was better this year?
I was hoping Dray would be the 1st team C rather than just end up in the logjam of F (Kawhi, LBJ, Dray, KD, PG13, Millsap, LMA- someone is getting screwed).
Positionless NBA has outgrown position specific teams.

Team record factors in when voting for All-NBA teams?

Even with an All-NBA first team selection that makes perfect sense to any sane human being, you will always get a few crazies, living in fantasy land, opening up their yap in protest.
Oh look what we have here.

for the media yes. It's why frequently the best player on the best team will win MVP even if someone else out there is better.

Sad statement on the C position today.
And some people wonder if Shaq would still be dominant today. Prime Shaq would crush the entire landscape of the NBA now.

Shaq wouldn't be allowed to run through people in the post and would be forced into PnRs 25 ft from the basket. He wouldn't even be playable against some teams.
Rules dictate greatness. And while Shaq was the most dominant player of the last 30 years, that was because he was allowed, as a 400 pound beast, to ram through defenders with his shoulders and turn his elbows through folks. His post moves are now clear flagrant fouls.

Was I wrong though? You literally can't name anyone else more underwhelming than DeAndre ****ing Jordan as a first-team selection.

Cousins was clearly better. I would even say Drummond has a strong case as well. But oh well.

Records aside, Cousins or Drummond. Both are easily better than DeAndre.

If they do it like all star voting, KD should be on first team.
Even if they don't, give me KAT, he has been better than Jordan this season.

As sad as it is, Drummond should have been 1st team. DMC is a black hole bum, could get third team.

Dirk, KAT, Timmy, Kemba, TP, Bogut, Lopez, and Dwight all got votes, but Wade didn't get a single vote? :facepalm :facepalm
Nothing new though. The media absolutely hates Wade and has always disrespected him.

KAT will own that first team for next decade ..

Goes to show you how sad the state of the center position is...20 years ago no center right now would even be top 5.

Cousins or Drummond clearly would've been better choices seeing as, you know, they were actual AllStars. But whatever, KAT's got that spot locked for the next decade

No but like I said KAT has a chance to be top 5 player in league let alone Center within 3 years.

So yeah, it just came to my mind, that I would no DOUBT take STEVEN ADAMS over DeAndre Jordan... don't think Adams sniffed any team, though.
Adams >> Jordan.

Jordan is the better rebounder/shot blocker, doesn't foul as much and doesn't turn the ball over because it isn't in his hands for longer than 2 seconds, you can lob it to him from anywhere and he'll get up and finish it
his FT shooting makes him a liability in the 4th but Adams shot 58% from the line this season so he's not that much better either.

Adams' has miles better touch, is a good passer where as DJ is an inept one, can actually create one-two moves for himself, is not a FT liability (Kerr stopped hacking him right after the first time), is a better defender, and equal rebounder but happens to be on one of the GOAT rebounding teams where the rebounding is distributed more equally.
Adams > Jordan.

:biggums: Deandre is still a better finisher at the rim even if just dunking can get repetitive. Have a hard time saying Adams is a better defender especially during the regular season. There's a reason the Clippers were 6th in defense and it's not just CP3 and Mbah a Moute while the Thunder were 13th. Blocks will overrate him ofc but his rim protection was good this year and he's fine on pnr's. Also the rebounding gap is too huge to just be explained by adams being on a great rebounding team. Hell adams might not be as good as kanter at rebounding. Jordan's the 2nd best rebounder in the league after Drummond.

DeAndre is better at defending the P&R and can stay on the floor longer because he doesn't foul as much and changes more shots than any other big man in the league.
saying they're equal as rebounders is a stretch. DeAndre averaged twice as many boards per game the last two seasons.
