OKC will be more impressive because the league is more top heavy. By that I mean it's common for the bottom 8 or so teams to actually compete to have the worst record, giving up quality players on purpose for picks and so they lose more, thus more quality players gravitate towards top teams. That's why we're seeing this OKC squad, a stacked Cavs team, stacked 67 win Spurs and a 73 win team all in one season.

Utah's 1998 run was the best - they beat Hakeem, Shaq's 4 all-star Lakers and Duncan/Robinson/Popovich's 56-win Spurs.

Houston's was more impressive since OKC played an awful Mavs team in the first round, but if OKC is able to close this series out and beat Cleveland... one of the GOAT championship runs right up there with Houston.

Oklahoma City would easily have the best playoff run in NBA history with consecutive playoff victories over San Antonio, Golden State and Cleveland. No team has ever gone through 67 win team in San Antonio, 73 win Golden State team, and a four-time league MVP in Lebron James with a very formidable team around cast around him.

Hakeem also managed to avoid Michael Jordan's Bulls, so it's one of the best but not on OKC's level. Of course, they still have a lot of work to do to get that done though.

Hakeem was done by '98.

Who cares

How many teams can say they beat Shaq AND Duncan/Robinson/Popovich in one playoff run?

Only the 90's Utah Jazz

/thread.

It'd probably be the best run in SPORTS history. 3 all-time great JUGGERNAUTS in a row WITHOUT home-court advantage???

GOAT!

Beating a 67 win Spurs team in six games and a 73 (!) win Warriors in six games would automatically make their run more historic and I'm a Hakeem fan. Beating the Cavs in the Finals (and getting revenge for '12) on top of all that will be legendary and far more impressive than 73 wins.

I'd probably take OKC in a series.

Hakeem was done, Duncan was a rookie (so was Pop), and Shaq was the only superstar on the Lakers.

As for OP, its OKC.
